New Law Idea

So i know my state has a Run and Done law, as well as a whole bunch of states have a law very similar. Run and Done is a law that says if you run fro the police, if you get caught you car is seized by the police and sold off. I think that this would help with role-play, because right now the only thing that you lose form running is a little bit of time and then 750 for getting the car out of impound. I am suggesting that either we have a different way of impounding vehicles that get in a chase with us, either make it to where they loose the vehicle or they have to pay a much larger fine to get the vehicle out of impound. I know this idea and post will not make a bunch of people not happy, but right now the current way is very unrealistic.

Increase the cost to about 10 or 20k . Then they will be willing to go to benny to get their car. I agree i think increase in fee will help

I only agree with this is there’s a second impound just for these cars. If we increased impound to 10k, every time my game crashed I’d have to go to the impound and pay 10k to get my car back. That’s ridiculous. If you created a second impound just for cars for people who ran from cops, then I’m on board.

I like this idea. It would, to me, increase rp cause people wouldn't be wanting to lose their car over a simple traffic stop.

J Jack L. Do me a favor and put in a formal request and submit it under the contact leadership section of the forums so we can keep track of it and look into implimenting this in some fashion! Thank you for your great idea by the way!

i really think this is a good idea because most the time as a cop people don't stop because they have nothing to lose. If this goes through, that's a good amount of money to lose compared to a few fines.

I like this idea a lot as it creates consequences like the ones we have to consider in the real world. Impounded cars should only be allowed to released by a mechanics thus creating even more RP.

A rule should be added that if your car is felony impounded, you and the car must be registered to CAD before you can pay to retrieve it.

Furthermore, retrieval cost should be a set % of the value of the vehicle.

Example: 10%
Crown Victoria = $700
Lamborghini = $37,500

People would then have to consider what vehicles to risk when committing a crime. In the real world, people with expensive cars have higher insurance and liability costs. This would simulate that responsibility.

Lets just make it a jail system, but for cars. So when you're arrested for being an idiot, your car is then impounded (jailed) for a million days.

I really like the idea of making it more expensive to break the law. If you want to be an ass and start a pursuit from a traffic stop there should be more serious consequences than taking a break and watching Luke Cage Season 2

Changing all of impounds to 10k would be detrimental to new players who timeout. Also, considering the criminals can go out and buy a 50k rifle every time I don?t think it will matter to them. I would suggest the second impound or some ability to confiscate cars for real.

I think a second "police impound" would be the ideal way to implement this.

Problem is if you permanently confiscate vehicles sooner or later very few people will have vehicles then all that will come of that is endless grinding for money or rather just completely giving up on playing in general, too be fair a second impound could work though it should be capped say around 20k for the highest price vehicles and lower for cheaper ones. For habitual offenders give the police power to set an amount as to how much it is going to cost to retrieve with a cap at 2x the original cost thus giving the police further power to punish repeat offenders and allow peoples first time to be a cheaper lesson. Which is more fair in general, as i am NOT a cop i do not think it would be fair to financially ruin someone by permanently confiscating someones vehicle.

This is a great idea, will help stop people from running just because of a "running a red light" ticket

i get your concern but i dont think that would happen as fewer and fewer people would run for small traffic infractions.
If ik im only getting pulled over for running a red light y run and risk losing your car, it adds much more needed RP
