Age of Conan

[blockquote]Well, fees sound like standard MMO fare then. I make a server choice when I actually get the game then. Any suggestions?[/blockquote]

I would suggest Set for PvE and Cimmeria for PvP (although it is technically an RP-PvP server), both have excellently active communities.

[blockquote]1) What kind of MMO is it (group or solor w/ group option)

2) Is it any good? (Compare it to your favorite MMO)

3) Screenshots (I demand to see the UI )[/blockquote]

1) It's an MMO, you have the option to group or to solo, but it's always online and the only time you won't see other players is during the "Night Time solo missions" but those are only a tutorial and you won't see any after level 20.

2) It's kicking the crap outta WoW, I find that the combat is the best part about it (well, that and for some odd reason the climbing ability), I don't ever find myself skipping over packs of mobs just because it never gets old to smash a guy's head in with a 2h hammer or cut their throat out with a dagger (yummy fatality bonuses).

My level 16 Assassin
(A little large, but you get the point, 1-3 are your attack keys, you have no auto-attack, so you are constantly mashing buttons...feels more like a fighting game after a while)

I got one On the Waccia Server or w/e names Joko LV13 i thin kand a 21 on bluesteel names caustic...look me up

Anyone who hasn't made up their mind yet, check out this video to hear some about it and see some fight!

*Edit*
I think I've decided I'm going to stay on Cimmeria (Scratch that, Hyperboria because Cimmeria is full up), it seems like the most active of the PvP servers. Since they plan on implementing a prison/bounty system for griefers I think the idea of a PvP server is much more of what I'm looking for now.

Well, my roommate got the game yesterday, and I plan on going to get it tomorrow. My roommates and I will more likely than not be staying on the Cultural PVP server, Bane. I'll post my character name and everything once I get in game and up and running on my own account.

I've been playing quite a bit this past week. I have a lvl 7 assassin and a lvl 23 Herald of Xotli. My 23 is on Wicca something, can't remember where my assassin is. This game made me realize how much I love MMOs, so I just reinstalled WoW and I'm waiting for those servers to come back up... only problem is that I love AoC's community, and hate with a blind passion WoW's community. Meh, at least in WoW I picked a solo class.

I just received AoC toady(is hate snail mail). Im going to install it soon. 2 of my friends plays on the Battlescar server, so ill go for that one.

I have played one of everything except guardian right now, still not sure what class I'm going to stick with. Decided to cancel my account (playing just the free month for now) until I can decide what I plan to stick with.

As far as playing on Bane goes, I wouldn't recommend it unless your friends all plan on playing the same race, as it stands now, if you group with someone of the opposite race and they get attacked by someone of your race, you just have to stand and watch.

Im ANGRY, for 4 hours ive tried getting my game to work, ive changed my password 4 times, but all i get when trying to log in is: Authentication Failure >:(

Server is currently down for 4 hours. Might be why you can't connect. :)

As for community, the game feels like a single player game. I rarely group and only chat i seem to see is OOC complaining. I have a 22 Priest and 23 Guardian. Think I am going with the guardian.

level 25 assassin on Deathwhisper, name is Trejan... anyone there hit me up, guild has a city already :D

Well I've got a 12 Necromancer (Zortax) and an 11 Conqueror (Ellishara) both on Bane right now. I've run into that PVP issue and it is a nuisance. We may have to fine ourselves a FFA PVP server instead. But both characters are on Bane for now.

I have a level 50 Ranger on Cimmeria, and I have to say, if you dont group, you are missing alot... Also, try to find people to do stuff with, I have three from my guild that Im pretty much leveling with and its freakin awesome (and saves from ganks).

Love the combat, it is truely a game where people have to learn to play though. Unfortunately it causes alot of people to complain about class balance alot.

Link to my guy with his new heavy armor. http://img61.imageshack.us/img61/5553/aoclq7.jpg

He is 32 now, but still same armor. Combos are nice, like a thinking game and use some in a specific order to get the enemy to change shield placement to setup for the next combo. But being on a pve server, i dont need to worry about ganking, and as a guardian i can take big groups on me fairly easy. Feels like a single player game to me, we'll see with time how it all pans out.

I was really excited about the game, but still considering to pick up in 2-3 months when the game adds some polish. You guys comments made me wanna starting to play now, though.

One question. I have heard the areas within the servers are like small instances only certain portion of servers can get in at the same time, ie, Area Name 1 (200 players) Area Name 2 (150 players) and Area 3 (180 players) and so forth. Is this a big deal or just blow out of proportion?

Basically once a zone is "full" a second one opens. You can switch between any instance to play with friends if they are in a different one.

Guys, I have just one question.
Is this game better than world of warcraft to play with a friend?

I haven't played it myself yet but it looks like a solo game with online multiplayer for me. The same as WoW :(
I might try it soon.
