they're all the same, except for the bat and the knife. And the ubersaw has a longer delay between swings. But other than that they're all the same.

I like the axe best but the shovel is a close second. When I get ubered as a soldier to take out a sentry, I shoot my rockets, and if it's still alive, I can generally shovel it to death before the uber wears off. Good stuff.

You forgot fists. They deal the most damage of all melee weapons and have the most powerful crit. Dunno how much it deals, but something about 300, since it kills overhealed Soldiers.

I love the bat, although I rarely play scout. I use the bonesaw most of all the mellee weapons, but there is just something hilarious about the bat. I even laugh everytime I get killed by a scout with a bat. It's awesome seeing that skinny guy running around at ADHD speed swinging and yelling "that guy's a freakin bat magnet!"

that's quite simply not true... a crit fist does 195 damage, just like all the other crit melees other than bat (105) and knife (which does not crit, unless it is a backstab.)
