Need new hard drive

Need a new hard drive since mine is now fryed. Need some suggestions and links to good gaming ones since i dont know what is good

Budget? You can get a decent SSD and then a 1TB rotational drive for games for not much. But toss a budget and let’s see if we can do better

Budget is less than 600 and thanks for those links gives me an idea for what i would need. After work tomorrow gunna take old hd out to see what that is and compair to newer models

Another question is how much storage do you need. Is this going to be the OS drive or storage drive?

Welli only had 1 hard drive for evrything on my pc so what ever that was. I need as a main hd that can support playing all kinds of games for long periods of time

Seagate Barracudas are probably the most reliable I've ever ran for an HDD.

...SSD's are still more reliable though, but I get that the price is offputting.

Well if you have 600 dollars budget to spend on drives, I have no problem recommending a 1tb or 2 ssd or maybe if you have an m.2 slot maybe one of those but maybe if it's a mistype and you meant 60 bucks then Get a 1 tb 7200 rpm Western Digital HDD.

Just ordered this Seagate BarraCuda ST3000DM008 3TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive Bare Drive hopefully this will last a while. Next thing to replace is my gc that is also 5 years old and im soon going to be getting 2 new 4k monitors so i want games to look awesome [emoji16]

I also upgraded to 4K lately. Keep in mind that games only look beatiful if you graphics card can handle gaming at 4k (which is only the 1080 TI right now and even there in some games under 60 fps). I would wait for the new AMD generation and hope that its capable of 4k (bcuz FreeSync).

For the HDD: Why didnt you shoot for a SSD? Its really awesome upgrading from rotational to SSD . And if your mainboard has a M.2 slot you dont even need any cables, etc and maybe (if supported) you could even shoot for NVMe.

Well i made another post in genral chatter saying after i installed my new hdd computer died completly so going to be buying a new one that has better specs. Then going to fix old pc and either sell or give to my little cuz
