Zodiacs are based on what month and what day you were born, but also down to the minute and down to the place.
It's all about how the universe aligned right when you came to the world. People claim (and I somewhat believe) to have figured it out, and to have a description of you, based on that information.

With that being said, I do feel that Zodiac signs do have a connection with your life, but I don't necessarily think it makes a difference, since you are who you are - zodiacs are just explanations.

And for Aries, it's a nice sign (to me, since I'm sagittarius in my sun and moon in Aries) =)

My teacher once asked us what our blood type is. Nobody could answer. Then she asked what our zodiac sign was and everybody could answer that. It lead to a very interresting discussion about people knowing the not so important stuff but have no idea about things that could save your life.
