What do you do in the real world?

Currently I am an Electrical Engineering student preparing for my second year at Case Western Reserve University (can't just say Case because the alumni get all upset and pull funding) in Cleveland, Ohio. Not completely sure where I want to take my degree yet, though I am hardware junkie.
I work in a music library as the desk kid which is the size of one small floor in a building. Just a job so that I can afford to live.

I design/maintain/troubleshoot custom dos/desktop/web applications remotely for clients around the country. Putting my History BA degree to good work :p

It's kinda cool... I get to know the people I am coding for.

Bah. You couldn't have gone with slashing through marauding bands of warriors?

Actually, I do enjoy history. I even was a teacher for a short while. I could teach, but I didn't want to be one of those teachers. I had a unique opportunity arise and gave programming a shot with the ability to fall back on teaching. Turns out I really enjoy programming. So now, I slash through spaghetti code (while trying not to create any myself =)

Currently a sophmore in high school... possibly want to major in engineering and attend the University of Santa Barbra and play soccer there too.

SMOCHEE>> i love sheetz... all of my family lives on the east coast and every time i go back, i at least stop once at a sheetz and pick up some of their subs :) SO GOOD

I work on elevators. Pretty much the most awesome gig in the world. Lots of driving, tunes, and the job itself is actually pretty easy.

I'm a systems admin down in wall street. I maintain the trading systems. It's a fun yet hectic job.

Senior systems engineer, myself and 2 other co-workers are responsible for everything related to 1200+ linux machines scattered around the world.

Just finished my 4th year of college, got a year and a half more to go. Gonna have a BA in Business when I'm done (took a semester off and transfered, so I lost some credits). I work at 20/20 Technologies, basically I do drawings in Autocad and work on databases for office furniture manufacturers. Not really fun, but the office is super laid back and its income :)

I think it's awesome how many computer/tech geeks we have here. I'm currently going into my sophmore year of college at Grand Valley State University for Computer Science.

Anyone have some advice for someone going into the computer field?

I work for a software company that takes catalogs, textbooks and phone directories and puts them onto cd-rom and on the web (as an HTML product.) While here, I play pool, ping pong, and TF2 of course! I love my job....

Final year of High School (thank goodness) :D
Hoping to get into Bachelor of Psychology as my course at Uni next year :O

Yo Snakeley... need some software testers to go with that pool and ping pong?? I could use another job :D

come on to st. louis, ninja!

oh yeah, and we drink beer on fridays-have tournaments and such...tomorrow we are having a "win and leave" tournament-we usually have those before a monday off (and x-mas and thanksgiving...you get the picture...)

hopefully i'll win, and get the afternoon off-PAID!

I'm a seventh grade student currently interested in Culinary Arts/Game Design/Business.

I'm a Business student at UNT (North Texas,) working on a BA in Accounting Control Systems. Not too sure what exactly i plan to do with this but i'm interested in banking/auditing currently (god knows why.)

I also work for McDonald's (swing manager.) I gotta pay rent some how and in a city with a college student population exceeding 30,000 and housing 3 high schools worth of kids it's hard to find a job.

Second year in college studying 3d Animation/Illustration. Hopefully, I will start my internship at EA sometimes next month (fingers crossed). Ironically, EA is probably the last game company on Earth i would want to work for (i hate how they keep making sequels/expansions for games they aquired, but rarely make any original title). I would be lying if i tell you i want to get hired after the internship, but i hope this internship will change the misconception i have about EA. WISH ME LUCK!!!

p.s. So-Cal is raining, NO WAY!!!!! This is more like my kind of summer.

I'm an eighth grade student, attending a small school in Ontario, Canada.
Currently, I'm interested in photography, Photoshop, and expanding my Linux knowledge. :)
