I haven't been around much as I've been engaged in selling our current house and I finally found a new one to buy after 3 years of looking. So hopefully once we get all this stuff closed with the lawyers and real estate agents. (basically its a slow process over here) Then I hope to be back playing more

Good luck Adorable, I believe you live in the UK in that case the real estate buying and selling is a dodgy thing. My Brother in Law took years to sell as he had many buyers who backed out on them at the last minute. Being patient I think is the key . they have settled now and busy decorating. So good luck to you

You're not wrong London its been dodgy with the estate agents over here. I finally learned how the game was played after losing 5 different houses this summer due to them being shady as hell. Basically this house came up, I went and saw it, lady said to just bring husband back at 7pm so I told him between time he got home at 5pm until time we went to see at 7pm IF YOU LIKE This we offer on it straight away lol. Worked out he liked it quite a lot.

In South Korea someone even draw a web cartoon once to show how time-consuming and shady British house buying-selling works XD(yes British system is notorious even in SK) so best of luck for your process and congrats!

In the US it can get shady as well..buying or selling.. I closed on my new house in Early April... my old one just sold and I close on the selling on Wed.. the buyers inspection came back with a single wrong board on this 2500 SQFT deck I built...(2x4 vs 2X6 in a single joist on the end span at 4' long) the buyers demanded I split half the cost of 12k to rebuild the entire thing. Funny thing about real estate contracts.. it states structual needs repaired.. not replaced. Deck is structual... So I replaced it at the cost of 26.00 and about 20 mins.... They demanded a brand new desk for a single board... SMH

Yes, buying a house can be tedious. I dont know much about the UK system though, I bought mine in Germany. Luckily its the first one we visited and my wife and me were just in love with it and we bought it right away.

The thing that bugs me here are the costs for buying a house. I had to pay 3 layers 8000€ each for NOTHING. One read the buyers contract to us and watched us sign it, one made an entry at the bank, one made an entry in the states register. Thats it. That cost us 24000€ (abouer $28000). Also the estate agent (you cannot get around these in germany! Only if you are the luckiest person in the word) also did cost 8000€. So basically you pay 4 people doing nothing a lot of money if you want your house.

shit incredible, leggal fees in nz can b $800 to $1500 depending if striaght forward deal ,agents fees can be 3% to 5% only the seller pays agent we thort we werte getting ripped off ,i feel for you guys

What bugs me most is that these guys did not do anything. They just made an entry. Thats it.

They changed the law here that the seller has to pay the estate agent, but only if you want to rent it. That means: The rents went up to give the costs to the renters again . Its just so hard ****ed up here.

I live in New York City, so property here is really expensive. I am buying an apartment next month. I will have somebody living in it so that I can sell it back after a few years when the rates go up.

Damn. Well I did 800 dollars worth of electrical repairs and I left the windows alone because I waen't doing those after I'd done all the electrical lol
