Back in the Game!! (Pun intended)

Hey everyone!

So if you saw my thread from earlier, my friend ended up stiffing me and keeping his desktop so I went out and bought some stuff at Fry's and, after spending half an hour price-matching everything (I'm that guy..) I built my own PC! This will be my third gaming PC that I've built over the last ~10 years, so I'm excited to have somewhat new stuff!

Here's the spec sheet:

MSI Z370 Gaming M5
Gigabyte GTX 1080Ti OC
16GB Patriot Viper RGB DDR4 2666
Samsung 970 Evo 500GB
Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD
Corsair H100i V2
NZXT H500 White
Windows ME 4.90

Monitor:
Samsung CHG70

Peripherals:
Corsair K70 RGB
Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum
ASUS ROG Centurion Headset

And that's basically it! I decided to cheap out on the processor to see if there's really a major performance difference in general, every day tasks and in casual gaming. If it comes down to it, I'll buy the i7 8700k and give the i5 to my girlfriend for her build

Anyways, I cannot wait to get back into gaming with you guys! It's been far too long!

Welp, my RAM isn't compatible with the board but get this; the 2666mhz and 3200mhz versions of the same model are... Guess it's a trip back to Fry's to exchange it!

Update to my update: The MSI board was faulty! I bought an ASUS Z370-A Prime and everything works normally! I'll be spending the evening setting everything up.

With the release of the i9-9900k and the RTX 2080 Ti I might be looking to dump my 1080Ti and i5-8600k. May sell them, may save them and build my girlfriend a PC.

If anyone is seriously considering an i5 or a 1080Ti hmu.
