Isnt this just someone addicted to gaming who doesnt know how to spend their money, and doesnt really know how to control themselves?

Edit; Sure fortnite can be "addictive" but not in this way, you dont HAVE TO come back to fortnite every time you play, right?
Its a battle royale game, you do the same thing over and over and improve over time, not a grinding game where you use countless hours to achieve an item. (shh battle pass)
This could've happend with literally any game Ex csgo PUBG Minecraft and so on.
The title being "FORTNITE turned innocent teen into a suicidal drug addict" seems very unnecesary

Clearly someone who hates fortnite, or gaming in general, those parents need to "handle" their child better

Unless they mean fortnite STW this "comment" is completely false and makes literally no sense

You cant actually buy upgrades in fortnite BR, to an extent you can buy llamas with V bucks in STW but this most likely isnt the case.

if you read the article, you?ll see where it had said that he had previously played other games such as CoD and GTA but had managed to balance living and playing. it was only once he started playing fortnite and became addicted to it, the addiction controlled his life. So, yes, in this case, playing fortnite did turn him.

and that quote isn?t said by the boy, not one of his parents. so it wasn?t said by someone that hates fortnite (well, i?m sure he does now) or hates gaming in general.

parents may try to ?handle? their children but children are also able to get away with a number of things. they?re able to keep addictions and drug usage under the radar until they reach a critical point. i mean, sure, the parents could have paid a bit more attention but it?s not a case of their ?handling? being brought into question.
 
How is this Fortnites fault? He blames his mental illness on a game and says 'oH wEll it SucKS yOu In'. I hate Fortnite I played it for a year and never got sucked into the game. He should've sought medical health instead of letting the addiction get out of hand.

How do they not see that its an addiction if hes playing up to 12 hours per day?
Edit; that he really loves a game doesnt mean its the game fault... for making a good game
 
Anyone that is able to get that addicted deserves the negative repercussions
 
also. all joking aside (and yes, i'm double posting on purpose, because my last post was just troll'y lulz), the game did nothing to him.
As someone who was a suicidal teen.... you don't need a "thing" to make you that. He was that, and his parents (or himself) is just looking for a scapegoat.
I'm not going to read the article, and I don't need to. The headline is just buzz feed to pull you in. Fortnite is popular. Popular = revenue.
