What do you guy think about disabling shooting from cars

I like the idea, because there are definitely people abusing this. But I just feel like this would make a few things unbalanced. I'd say make it so the driver cannot shoot, because if anything that'd be the most realistic. Its always difficult to find the fun/realistic balance. I'd love to see it stay the same but just wish after the reset people start actually Rping these things.

+-1 This would be good for drivers specifically, being not every driver would shoot cops going 150mph in a pursuit
This should be allowed for passengers, the pistols arent too OP other than the AP pistol ofcourse.
i would love if it were to be disabled for the driver but enabled for the passenger(s)

I don't think it should be disabled completely, but maybe after a certain speed it's disabled for the driver but the passenger can still shoot. I believe there's a plugin like this already out there that could be implemented.

I agree with blxrr at slower speeds the driver would be able to shoot but should be disabled at a certain speed. But for the passenger they should be able to shoot at any speed.

It wouldn't be that big of a deal if the shots couldn't go through the vehicle itself. Nothing like following a truck and being shot while in its blindside because the bullet goes through the cars geometry

It shouldn't be disabled at all because you can still shoot out of a car in real life no matter what speed you're going, at the most do what blxrr said but it's not very realistic if you just make it to where you can't shoot out of a car. If a driver or the passengers decide to shoot out of the car then let them, learn how to dodge it or make the police car windshield take more shots before it "breaks" and is able to be penetrated.

This argument doesn?t make any sense. We have the same third person view as they do. Don?t follow too close to the car if you believe they?re gonna shoot. There?s ways of going about things without fully disabling something. It all adds to the challenge of pursuits. Avoiding cars and trying not to get riddled with bullets. In reality, if you have good enough aim you can 1-shot anyone out the car from a good distance away.

This argument doesn’t make any sense. We have the same third person view as they do.

We may have third person view exactly like they do, but since we are shooting forwards through our front windshield, we are not shooting through our cars actual geometry. By firing from third person in a vehicle, you can actually shoot at areas that are untargetable via first person, because the first person view camera limits your view to what you would reasonably be able to see and aim at, and prevents firing into the vehicle itself. Third person ignores this limitation, allowing you to fire through the vehicle. While in third person, you can fire from the drivers side of a phantom hauling a trailer into a vehicle thats to the right and in your blind spot. IRL, you would never be able to shoot that car, but in GTA5 third person, the bullets will ignore the vehicle geometry and view limitations and pass right through.

Here's an example of how third person vehicle shooting in gta is inherently broken. Not only can you fire through the truck itself, but you can fire through the trailer as well in certain situations. Note that in first person view in that vehicle, you cannot shoot behind you at all.




To shoot while in a vehicle, require first person view. Fairest way to fix the broken shooting mechanic in vehicles.

I believe only passengers should be able to shoot. If drivers are able to shoot it should mess with there steering. This would cause people not to shoot as often when they are running from the police.
