Tech Help laptop to monotir which cable for best performance

Hello all,

I have a Dell XPS with HDMI 2.0 port and a USB-c port (with a display port adapter)

The cable goes into a gaming monitor but which cable is the best for the least amount of input lag?

Hdmi or thunderbolt to displayport.

HDMI is fine - it’s capable of carrying more than enough bandwidth. Save your thunderbolt port for something more useful like an external drive

There isn’t a whole ton of data going through, especially if you’re outputting 1080p.

For what it's worth; I agree with Simon.

If it's a thunderbolt connector, I think you can connect an external GPU to it. Therefore I'd use the HDMI if I ever wanted to use something like that.
