Interview question

This thread is for assisting anyone with interviews in near future.

So normally during the interview, the recruiter usually asks the question: Where do you see yourself in next 5 years.

Do not answer with

I see myself sitting in your seat not asking pointless questions like these.

Because unfortunately they can use that against you when considering hiring you.

This question is usually asked to find out what kind of person you are and if you are able to use critical thinking to explain something that is not set in stone.

I normally answer it like so.

I wish I knew I have a hard time seeing were I'm at a month from now as I live more in the present. Growing up I moved around a lot and never stayed in one place to long so that taught me to appreciate what is happening in the now rather than worry about the future.

But if anyone wants coaching on interviews hit me up as I have been both the interviewer and interviewee several times.

I gave more than 50 interviews in my career so far but none of them asked this question yet, but I am eager to know it's answer because it's the most common question and anyone can ask so its better to ask.

Well, that is a hard question to answer. I'm no the type to think that far ahead. I just do what's asked of me. In fact, I might even be a different person tomorrow, or even a dead man. Nobody knows what tomorrow has in store for you. I'd like to think that tomorrow's me is completely different from the me I am now.
