Got Ubuntu on an old mac book that couldn't handle mac OS anymore. I host some servers for friends and test maps and its fun to just mess around with.

I use Void Linux on a daily basis. Eventually, I intend to move everything from my Windows partition to my Linux one and say goodbye to Micro$oft forever. I haven't done that yet because I'm lazy, but I haven't booted into Windows for about two months now either.

Anything acquired by IBM tends to die an extremely painful death.

I'm hoping they just acquire it, leave it alone and let it do it's thing. But IBM doesn't seem to have the best track record of doing that.

Long time Fedora user here btw - I actually started using it when I was 8 years old and it was known as "Fedora Core".

So... let's see

1. My personal laptop runs Gallium OS. It's an Ubuntu fork for Chromebooks.
2. I have an Ubuntu VM that I use for some testing purposes and secure browsing.
3. I also have a Kubuntu VM that I use for various tasks. (Kubuntu is an Ubuntu fork that uses the KDE window manager.)
4. And I have a few Raspberry Pis that run a mixture of Linux distros -- Raspbian, RasPlex, Stratodesk, and some others that I was testing for work but can't remember.

I also have a FreeNas box, but that's based on FreeBSD, so it technically doesn't count. I've run various Linux or other Posix compliant OS's over the years, but I'm very much a "right tool, right job" kind of guy. You'll never hear me proselytizing Linux over Windows or MacOS. They all have their place in this world.


Oh, but Emacs all the way. And if you say vi(m), then you're just wrong.

I'd be using Linux as a main distribution, unfortunately I love my games and there is only so much support available on Linux based systems... Although it really has advanced in the past years. Instead I just have multiple VM's with a selection of distributions for my work and then boxes here and there to hop over to.

Debian is my baby but you have to show some love to Fedora and RHEL.

Same here, I would use (Arch) Linux as my main distribution, but very minimal games are supported by Linux. :/ However, I do have Arch installed on my USB drive, so I can boot it whenever I feel like doing so.

Arch Linux since 2013. Some of my windows games are running now with Proton on Steam.
