I remember a few years back...playing a minecraft horror map, I ran straight out of the room and shut my computer.

I took turns with a friend one night playing the first F.E.A.R. game on a large screen TV...in a blacked out room. Yeah, we both screamed like little girls being ax murdered. It is especially scary because the game lulls you into seeing certain things and never having a scare, and something just as simple multiple times and getting a scare out of left field. The following made me scream, and the friend drop bag of chips he was going through:

What made this even more effective is that Alma had appeared way earlier in the "level" so the player thought themselves safe. Also, this area had TONS of ladders that started with the same animation, so this one makes your heart jump!
 
F.e.a.r when you see a statue and you turn back and it's gone @_@
 
I'll never forget the trex busting its angry face through a window in dino crisis. I was so young. Turned the playstation off and peaced out

Think the only game that jump scared me once was Alien: Resurrection (2000)
 
I could name a few tbh, Deadspace 1,2,3 god what a series Doom on the original xbox, Amnesia. There is more but I can't get the names on my mind love scary games.
 
Dead by daylight sometimes has really good jump scares to offer, anyone playing as the shape usually is able to sneak up and scare the hell out of players lol.
 
Alien Isolation. If you played that game, you know what I'm talking about.
