Tech Help Elgato HD60S has no audio in OBS Studio with Nintendo Switch

Hi everyone, so the title basically explains it all. I've searched the internet and this is the first problem I've come across with no apparent fix.....so I thought I'd turn to you lovely people of eGO! IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE PLS

So the capture card works fine with the Elgato Game Capture Software, but my camera looks awful in comparison to OBS Studio, and customization is very limited as far as overlays, timers, alerts, etc. Naturally, I'd like to use my native streaming software, OBS Studio.

I don't think it's a faulty card or my console, due to the fact that it works fine on the elgato capture software, just that the stream quality is not as efficient as it could be.

So I set up the Elgato on OBS Studio now. I've got everything to work EXCEPT in-game audio. I've tried everything I could think of, from tinkering in the device properties with numerous options including outputting the audio to the desktop (DirectSound and Waveout) and putting an aux cable from my switch (docked) to the back of my PC (line in) and still nothing. I've looked absolutely everywhere on Youtube and the internet and I've exhausted every single option on OBS. Where am I going wrong, anyone?

I haven't tried the capture card on any of my other consoles yet. I know the card works with its native software, but I just can't get it to fully work on OBS studio, the in-game audio does not work. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

What are the current audio input options in OBS? Does it allow more than one device to be utilized at once?

What's your set up out of the switch? Is it set for video HDMI out and audio HDMI out?

I enabled a second mic/auxiliary audio device in my settings and assigned to Line (Elgato Sound Capture) if that's what you mean. I've tried setting my audio input sources as my microphone (as usual) only and then setting up a second source and assigning it to the capture card as described above as well.


It should be....I couldn't find anything of the sort in the settings of the switch but when the console is docked, it outputs the video and audio through an HDMI cable and normally to the TV. In this case it would be to the Elgato HD60S
