I was thinking of another way to possibly create revenue for EGO would be a csgo trading site. This would be where we could have EGO members of the CSGO community have access to trade skins with other members. They aren't too crazy to create and if people would be interested in this it would be a way for members to help contribute to EGO while also in their own interests and benefits.

I would be willing to help create it however I'm not the greatest at these types of tasks and I would also need some help with the funds and ads and routing that to EGO. However I think this would be a good way to help fund EGO and keep it going strong while also giving benefits to the people using it:D

Might be some dumb idea but I think it could possibly be super beneficial to everyone and I would love to see EGO keep going. Would love some help or advice in making this happen as I would definitely not be able to do it alone and advice on if this could possibly work.

Would love some feedback so if you can just leave something and maybe it can turn into a great idea to help EGO!

Legal issues + Steam issues with trading bans

What legal issues? Creating a server to support trading would have no legal repercussions.

Steam trading ban does not stop trading between players. There is still a community around, of which I am an active member.

As far as creating a new server goes, Mayhem Death Mayhem Death answered this in the meeting: eGO is not looking to expand their servers at the moment. Currently, we want to work on our current servers; optimize those and update them.

I read it wrong I thought he meant website. But even then admins would have to deal with constantly having issues with scamming and low-ball prices and such. Also doesn't steam have the 7 day trade hold? Also don't forget that constant monitoring would be needed as players might try skins to money trades which then there would be legal / steam issues.

I also traded a lot and many servers died when steam decided to make the trade hold

I would say strong no to this. Using valve property (the skins and all that) and routing that through EGO for us to make a profit is not going to work out. That's why all the sites got banned, they were trading cs go skins through their own platform instead of vale's workshop/skin market.

If this is something that eGO wants to do, I would be more than happy to help out in this area. Trading in CS is something that I have a lot of experience in, and as a cash trader myself, anti scam measures are not hard to implement.

Trading money for items is not illegal or against steam rules. The 7 day trade hold does not prevent trading, it only delays it.

OPskins bots got banned because they tried to directly circumvent Valve's trade hold, and were affilicated with gambling in the past. The only trade bot sites that have ever been banned are those that have been involved in gambling or scamming.

And that's why alias died because of the new trade hold. You are only thinking about new player base (which I'm just saying Alias's other servers never had any players on at any time) but this would be a new server they would have to add or use resources from other servers to host which costs money.

Alias was shit down because Schmed did not see any direct profits in it anymore, and he was moving on to other things anyways (he's not active on steam anymore at all). There are still currently 2 trade servers up, which get around ~50 player daily peaks still.

I agree about the initial investment cost, which is partially why its known for a fact that this won't happen in the near future, if at all.
