They tried to turn a cartoon and card game into a mainstream movie....

I pray that there's a scene where pikachu stubs his toe or something and all the people in the room here a high pikachu voice shouting pikpikapikpikpikapi- then someone who can understand him walks in and a loud, deep Ryan Reynolds voice just leads on with a long string of curse words

On one hand: Pika-Ryans breaks the fourth wall in the trailer by showing how other people think he is just saying his name....on the other hand, America does not have a good track record for producing good-in house anime / game related movies (I'm staring at you Ghost in the Shell, Dragonball: Evolution, the various ideas put forward for Akira, etc.)

Honestly, I won't be seeing it unless some of my friends invite me. I'm not exactly interested in watching some sort of live-action CGI Pok?mon, but I'll go hangout with my friends and if it means seeing this movie, why not.
