"High quality" TF2 screen shots?

How does one get them? Whenever I take screen shots they look blurry. Thanks.

they shouldn't be, I'm assuming you run the game on high settings. Are you talking about the .tga files steam creates when you hit f5? For me they are already at a high quality, you just need to save them to a format with high quality settings... for example mspaints default JPG settings are horrible, if you use photoshop or another program you can make some high quality jpgs.

Yes, I use high settings. I press F5 to take a screen shot and when I view it the quality isn't nearly as good as it was while in game. Like your thread here

Do you have motion blur on? And i bind a key to take jpegs. Just type in console bind f5 to see if anything is assigned to f5, if not type bind f5 jpeg. No more conversion and jpeg is good enough for this, considering that if you need to upload you do not want TIFF size screen shots.

What program are you using to view them? Also, are your pictures .tga? If so, you should bind F5 "jpeg". Its a more convenient file type.

I have motion blur off, and I've tried a few different programs to view my images.

This may not look too bad for most people, but it should look much better than it does.

Your screenshot shows some pretty blatant signs of badly done compression, what program did you use to convert that?

I didn't have to convert it. I did the bind f5 jpg thing. Even before that my screen shots always looked crappy. I've even tried taking them with Fraps. I'm stumped. (

Post your exact settings, resolution and such, and what video card you have.

I have a Nvidia 7800 GTX 256MB video card which runs games great.

Type this in the console:

bind f6 jpeg
jpeg_quality 100

Then press F6 to take a screenie. Maybe that'll help.
