I know I have posted in the past but I wanted to get a fresh new start on another thread with two different cards that I want to see about getting...

GTX 1080 Ti or RTX 2080 Ti

I know that both are very expensive but I will soon have the cash for either of them, right now they are both $1,300. I heard that the 1080 Ti is currently done with production of the card so that they phase to the new 20 series cards. If that is the case then I might get the 1080 Ti because that one has been out for a while and the 2080 Ti only out for a few months with many bugs and whatnot but I am on the fence about both and need some advice. I currently own the GTX 970 so either of the two that I get will be 10x better than what I have, thanks in advance for the input.

The only reason to go 1080ti over the 2080ti is to save money on picking up a used 1080ti.

But seeing that you are looking new for both, no reason to not go 2080ti.

But seeing that CES is coming up might be worth to wait and see what new AMD has to offer or if the far out rumor that Nvidia is launching a new 11 series to see some new tech coming out.

If you want the best of the best right now the 2080ti is the king, but damn is it pricey for what you get.
My opinion best bang for buck is the 1070ti right now which would be a nice boost over your 970.

Get the GTX 2080Ti if you insist on buying something riught now. No point in spending the same amount of money for last-gen, even if it's still very good and mature. If the 1080 Ti was between $700-1000, I'd recommend that then (Brand new, not used).
