Jailbreak "one marker lives the rest die" (and other luck based games)

"one marker lives the rest die" is where the warden places down markers (2-4) and types in CT chat the one that will live, and at a certain time the CTs kill everyone who is not in the marker specified by the warden. I feel like this game has evolved to be come the next "marker race", the latest variant of a "cancer" game on the jailbreak server. I think if there is 2 markers, one lives one dies, that is fine, you have a 50% to survive. When there is 3 or 4 markers your chance of surviving is lowered to 33% and 25% respectively, and this game is usually played as the last game or mid round game, meaning people who are alive have spent time in the round working to get to where they are. Having worked hard completing games in the top 50% of players only to be killed by a 25% luck game doesn't seem fair. Along side this, "AFK colours" is a 1 in 9 chance of surviving which is equally unfair and annoying to Ts who work hard only to die to this at the end.

Now what am i suggesting? We could allow this game, however you could only have 2 markers instead of 3 or 4 (AKA say luck based games need a 50% chance of winning). We could not allow this game to be played on maps that have roulette or four corners, since it is basically the same concept, and then on maps that do not have a four corners only allow it to be played like four corners would (4 markers 1 dies).

I would like to see what you guys think about this, thank you for reading.

In my opinion, any luck based game with a chance of survival at less than 50% just shouldnt be allowed. There is no reason whatsoever that a warden would do a "one marker lives, 3 markers die", or "afk colors" type of game, unless they are trying to make JB as unenjoyable as possible for t's. That is not the point to jailbreak, the point is to have fun. If you are running low on LR time, you do not need to do a luck based game with a low chance of survival. It seems like this type of game gets played at least every other round, and I'm pretty sure that most T's find it unenjoyable. At the end of the day, an enjoyable experience is more important than a minute more of lr time.

+1, reduce the luck based cancer.

I think a new rule should say: Any custom luck-based game (to exclude any map games) should have a survival chance of 33% (could be changed to 50%) or more.

Could be reworded, but you get the point

[CS-Jailbreak] Make luck based games "fair"

Hiya there great peeps of EdgeGamers! This is for you JailBreak folks so pay good attention and for you regulars out there; you probably have experienced- or seen these types of games have been done in the past so I'm hoping you can relate with me on this matter. So at the moment we have the rules for luck as as follows...

CS JB Rules said:
All Luck-Based Games
You must not play any luck-based game unless there are 20 or less Prisoners alive, and it must not be the first game of the round.

A luck-based game is any game that does not require any skill and instead requires 100% luck, for example: couch game, duck hunt, roulette, wheel of fortune, keep or pass…etc.
and we need to get this sorted out, properly. I see every single god damn round Wardens do "Choose one of the four markers, 3 markers die, 1 survives" and if not this then "Primary, Secondary, Melee", which honest to god is the most toxic way of eliminating T's. Not just that but according to the rules one can play this with 20 T's. Meaning the amount of T's dying is uncanny. (Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmbILvM0RyM // I'm not trying to "mark" someone out. This warden decided to do the game since it's not against the rules which it isn't... yet ;) ). Games like these ruins the whole point of having map games. I don't have any real good suggestions which is why I'd love some third party opinions along with some possible solutions to this issue; because it's not enjoyable for T's what so ever (Unless if an opposing CT ghosts the marker to you which happens way too frequent). For now I've got a couple of possible solutions ...

  • Make a limit to how many non-map games one can play during a round
  • Lower the luck based alive restriction to 10/12/15(?)
  • Make it so that all luck based games must give all T's a fair 50/50 percentage chance to win the activity. (This'll also help with the game "Primary, Secondary, Melee"

Opinions, solutions, thoughts?

Btw; EpicFlamingos thanks buddy <3

I second this and totally agree or even make it were they can only kill of one marker and have to place 2-4. That way it makes the odds of survival greater either way.

Games of chance really need to be limited to a 50/50 unless directly controlled by the map with no user input outside of starting the game.

just remove them all together. it sucks winning skill based games all round then dying to a luck game

Add a new rule that luck based games with less than a 50% survival rating cannot be played unless there is only 2 minutes left of the round(as 2020 said). . I use games like this when there are a lot of CT's and a short amount of time. It gives T's a chance to actually do something in LR before they get murdered as the round timer ends. However, for the most part, I am fully for getting rid of a cancer game such as this(even though I am guilty for using it).

I see downsides of adding more rules like this though. Jailbreak is already filled with enough rules as it is. When I first joined, I had played jailbreak before, but never with as many rules as EGO/PG jailbreak has. Playing on there for the first time was hard as I got swapped so many times for attempting to be warden that it made me want to not play. I know that there is the "You should know how to warden before you warden" saying but its not like everyone has every single rule drilled into their head at all times and I felt like I could handle it pretty well. Problems could easily occur where a warden does this to early and no one warns them and boom, thats a MFK.

TLDR: Ban it. Be on top of warning players about what games they can play and when.

Among many other things, our goal is to provide and ensure a clean, fun, enjoyable and reputable gaming environment for future and current players. If there is something hindering this in any way shape or form, it will be addressed accordingly. As of now there isn't anything prohibiting players from partaking in these types of luck based "games". Rules are subject to being changed at any given time by CS Leadership without prior notice.

Thank you all for the input on this suggestion thus far and know that this is being discussed, Cheers.

After discussing this further amongst the CS Leadership team, we have made changes in regards to this via our FAQ.

Players can no longer use the colors platform as a means to conduct a custom luck based game.

Cheers.
