Announcement Valentines Day Leadership Changes and Awards

As one year ends and another one begins, we here at TF2 continue to help
support the game we love while always looking ahead to what we can do
to keep the fire lit. With ever exciting events and a wonderful community,
our happy little family continues to slowly grow overtime, and it's thanks to
the great leaders we have here in this division. Today, we want to honor
Emmy and Minty and their longtime dedication to EdgeGamers as
we share some sad news:

Emmy and I have been members of EdgeGamers for the better part of five years,
and have shared countless unforgettable experiences in this community.
Throughout our time here, we have forged many friendships and made impactful
memories that will stick by us for years to come. Without a doubt, EGO definitively
shaped our teenage years. Every great event, every fantastic karaoke night…
we have no one but you to thank for them.

But all things come to an end - even our time with this fantastic community.

As Emmy and I’s lives take us further and further away from our computers,
she and I have individually come to the conclusion that our time in EGO is at its close.
The both of us are stepping down from our roles as Senior Manager and Community Manager
and departing from EdgeGamers. We leave Team Fortress 2 in the capable hands
of Hotdogs, DrkChocolate and Dianite, whom we are confident will lead your community
to even greater heights.

Thank you all for five amazing years. We love you all.

My towering pillar of hats is taken off today for Emmy and Minty, who without them,
the division would not be what it is today. Please send them well-wishes and help
me in thanking them for their long service to our community.

This past year has been a chaotic one for Team Fortress 2. The pG merge, retrainings and the sudden loss of TF2’s most active EC’s put a great deal of strain on our leadership members. Throughout this time, however, DrkChocolate has consistently stepped up to the plate to do what needed to be done. Over and over, DrkChocolate has filled shoes and taken over responsibilities to make Team Fortress 2 run smoother. Ban contests, Black Mesa Sunday EC issues, and even server technical problems are no match for TF2 when Drk is around. Her determination and work ethic are matched only by her radiant kindness towards others. It’s a long time coming, and we’re ready to rectify it – we are ecstatic to award DrkChocolate with the Distinguished Service Medal for her many years of dedication and compassion.

Please congratulate all newly promoted members and those awarded. Thank you for your
service, Emmy and Minty. We wish you all the best!
