After I was done with World of Warcraft I was reluctant to try a new MMO, but EVE has always had the visual charm and the archetype that I was interested in.

A Deep space adventure, where all of the galaxy is explorable. Kind of.

I signed up for the free trial last night and played it for a bit, other than the stubborn controls (Which I'm sure I'll get used to eventually) I really like this game so far.

It's beautiful, it's fun, it's free for 14 days!

Anyone else play EVE?

Yes I have played the demo twice. Once when Earth and Beyond bit the dust and tried it as an alternative space MMO. Didn't like it back then. Tried it again a couple of months ago after the GFx engine upgrade and I was very impressed. The graphics are astounding; the music almost puts you in a trance. It can be really easy to get hooked on EVE. For one, it does not have a leveling system but it has a hiearchical training system. Meaning in order to use the uber ships and weapons you have to gain the skill through training, and that training can depend on other training. Training in a new skill can take from a few minutes to a few months. A couple suggestions I will make for you is always and I do mean ALWAYS get the ship insurance. You don't want to get smoked without $$$ and have to start all over with a n00b ship. Also, do not hang around jump points because there are some that like to hang around them and pick off n00b rival factions. Let me know what server you are on as well as your race/class and I might join you.

Good luck!
