Hackers is just one aspect of it. It's allowing a community to design gameplay the way they want. It strengthens a community to be able to play together on their own server. This new model where EA is trying to increase it's fanbase by encouraging forcing new content aka firestorm is just terrible. They wasted all this time, IMO, creating a new mode that I dont' think is going to attract anyone new.
