It's 2019, A vast number of departments are either removing their shotguns entirely and moving to an AR platform or are just straight up switching their shotguns to a less than lethal means like a bean bag or Toronto's "sock gun".

We're here to be peace keepers so typically lethal is the less resort. We've already got access to a Glock, an AR, and (If you're TAC certified) an MP5 I believe. So I think we should try and "purchase" a bean bag shotgun for the law enforcement community on here as a whole since we've already got the lethal means covered and it's a nice weapon but truthfully there's not much use for it. If we're inside, it's typically a small area so a handgun can do well and if it's outside, and a little distance, the AR does perfect so really the shotgun is just outdated and not a great tool in my books besides it being able to be changed over to a less than lethal means.

I know that it's said by leadership that it's supposed to be fair, and I completely agree with that but as you can ask Bronx as well as others that know Law Enforcement outside of video games is that we shouldn't have to rely solely on our tasers. I personally don't have a little sight thingy that I know some people have put back into their game because I try and make it realistic and what not but at the same time, the taser should be hitting someone point on but somehow it "misses" or it shows them being hit but they aren't affected?

Regardless, I vote that we have bean bag shotguns in place of our current shotguns or maybe another shotgun platform for less lethals.

Same concept as a taser, we would warn them that they'd be shot with a bean bag roughly 3-4 times (Presuming they aren't causing a threat, I.E. walking towards someone with a handgun or acting aggressive in nature)

Honestly I don't know. I feel like we get chewed out too often for us of the AR in MOST scenarios. This leaves us with a pistol for lethals. I think before we remove our one strong lethal alternative, we need to be permitted more freedom with the AR. I would be fine with the shotgun swap to less than lethal if the AR is given that freedom. Until then, without cross-hairs, you have to be pretty good with a pistol to hit anything, thus the shotgun provides a solid spread backup for officers with less than perfect aim, so I do not support taking away that lethal option.
