Add more features to discord

Been seeing it come up more and more in our game-servers and in both TS & Discord as to why we don't support discord voice channels and such. A few years ago, when discord was still in early launch, I could understand not supporting discord as it didn't have as good of voice quality, and it had trouble with outages and uptimes.

I want to stress that I don't think we should drop TS, or reduce it's use in anyway, however I would love to move/duplicate some of the channels over to discord. I personally prefer discord, as do many others.

Just don't know why we wouldn't... is there a reason I am missing as to why Teamspeak is better then Discord other then it already being set up?

Permissions are set on TS automatically (through maul), which isn't set up on Discord and is also a pain to even set up, near impossible.
Audio quality is still worse than TS, no matter what you do.
Overview is still worse than TS personally speaking
Huge number of users in a voice channel on Discord is still not pleasant... e.g. for meetings, bigger events.
As far as I know their is no easy ban list on discord, can't ban on IP if needed.
Discord sells user data, TeamSpeak earns money from licenses.

Yes it does. Several even. And you can make your own themes.

Ehh, discord still looks better tbh, i dont like ts3 bc whenever i played factions on minecraft ppl used ts3 and they could just get my ip, which back then i didnt know anything about it and ppl just said "I'm going to get you're ip", when they can only stress ur ip and thats about it

We shouldn't be looking at which is the better platform, but which platform is better for our community.

One could argue that TS3 is better because of it's customizability and ease of management, while another could argue that Discord is better because of it's ease of access and ease of use, but in the end I think that TS3 fits our community more because of the reasons specified.

Regarding the actual topic of the thread, I feel that voice channels, at least a few, are essential to our Discord, thus +1 from me. What even is a Discord without voice channels?

A Discord that is used for general chatter and announcements, as ours is.

I really don't see the need for Discord voice channels, it would just make the Discord cluttered. TeamSpeak is fantastic for Edge because it was created to have many different voice channels for different games. It's structured in a way so that you don't get a headache trying to see what all the channels are because it was obviously laid out in a way to be used specifically for many, many voice channels. It's arranged in a way that would be difficult in Discord. It's also just easier to join TeamSpeak voice channels with the way the discord is laid out now; with the fact that you need specific roles to join specific text channels (and I'd assume voice channels if this was added), it would just make it a slower process for new players to start interacting with new people.
There's also just no real need. TeamSpeak is fine to host the voice channels.

That sounds like an individual server setting that isn't a thing on the eGO server. As far as I recall, you cannot see other users IP's unless you're a leadership member.

I'd just like to point out that Discord runs like crap and is a resource hog. Wish they'd actually develop something better than using Chrome's engine to drive it. (And an outdated version of it, at that).
