I'd like to start off by saying there are a plethora of ways to encourage civilians to RP instead of taking away (for some) one of the only things they truly enjoy on the server. There is a fine line between realism and genuine fun, and the way the economy is right now is quite over the line.

The way the economy was before the reset was fine. No one made "$1 million in an hour". No one made "$100k in an hour". That's not how it was at ALL. You could make around $30k clean, not mentioning the fact that drug locations were patrolled many times in a single hour @Adam. With all due respect to those who said that, it shows in itself how over-exaggerated making money was and still is.

(Just an example) - Let's say I want a Lamborghini with decent upgrades, totaling to about $1,000,000. With the current legal job system, you make about $3k an hour. So, to get a Lamborghini, you would need to spend over 330 hours of sitting in a couple of circles, not including fuel costs, vehicle (extra space) costs, and possible robbers. I don't know about you guys, but I'd much rather spend around 20-30 hours getting money for a supercar instead of upwards of 2 straight weeks. It's absolutely outrageous.

I feel like legal jobs have always been an irrelevant source of money, which is why I don't understand why they are still being nerfed. As far as drugs go, it should always be high risk - high reward. It shouldn't be high risk - super low reward.

I personally would like to see drugs go back up to 1 drug = 2 bags, with the current payout staying the same, especially considering the locations are patrolled the same if not more. It's in the middle of the current economy and the old economy. As far as legal/whitelisted jobs go, they should be bringing in about $10-$15k an hour. It's just stupid to think you'd have to spend 2 straight weeks with no sleep or breaks whatsoever, of standing in a couple of circles to buy one car.

I understand that the economy was changed in an effort to increase overall RP, but it really didn't achieve much other than making a noticeably large chunk of the (civ) playerbase leave the server entirely. Not everyone enjoys the same RP, hence the server should be more diverse instead of forcing legal and "fun" RP. Players shouldn't be punished and ridiculed for wanting to make money.

Let's have a discussion.
A real. deep. heartfelt. discussion here...
I'm not here to flame and I don't want this discussion to be derailed into an argument or a debate just a discussion.
Respectfully, I want you to answer some questions for me; truthfully and because I may be naive.

How does the amount of money you have restrict you from roleplaying?

How does the difficulty of accessing super cars restrict you from quality roleplay?

How does the difficulty of obtaining automatic weapons and long guns restrict you from quality roleplaying?

Are you wealthy or do you own any of those in real life?

I absolutely love the current setup. The very slow economy will extend the longevity of the server as it will take about a month to be able to get 1 super car. The slowness will allow for more natural flow and RP scenes. This way transport agency isn't useless and people will use it encouraging more natural RP.

"The way the economy was before the reset was fine." - was so fine that we had to do a whole server reset after just 6 months because everyone has everything and you had to force yourself to come up with RP scenes. It burned me out ( and many others ) as all RP felt forced and low effort.

I also don't think that it should be "make money to RP" but rather "RP to make money". I dont think the focus of RPing on here should be to get the very most expensive thing in a week time but rather have fun with your friends. Come up with a plan of making money for everyone in your friends group. Spend some time, and time how long what task takes, then develop a plan combining different aspects of Legal and Illegal jobs to maximize your income. It's an RP server in the end. If you RP something well, there will be no issues with admins/LE. Think outside the box, come up with business plans that include different aspects of the scripts that are on the server.

I, like a lot other people didn't have that push to wanna join and play on the server before the reset. But for the past couple days since the reset I actually wake up and want to join and search for illegal locations, do different jobs and see which ones profits what and how I can incorporate it with other ideas for a business outside of the script ones and whitelisted jobs.

You also mentioned that taking away the thing that a lot people enjoy - I take it that you mean high end cars, races, car shows etc.

You do not need supercars to host car races or car shows. It not about just having a good looking car, its about the history you come up with for that car. It's not always about the car that has most money put into it. It's also about the cars that people build over years from plywood and some plaster and then painted it all so it looks nice, that they put effort and passion into.

Also to go back to what I said above and to include the racing thing. I'm a huge car enthusiast across different styles like stance, drifting builds, clean road builds etc. I appreciate it all as it all has a story to it and some of those stories are beautiful. But I also love racing and really enjoy fair play racing. Hence why I came up with the R&R Racing Organisation where I host legal races with different varieties of cars and on different varieties of track styles.
I did that as I know there is a lot of people who love driving fast and want a challenge when driving. This is also why I suggested the Nurburgring race track so now people will have a place that they can enjoy their hard earned and spend money on cars going their top speed now that they are actually realistic.

Even though people might not be able to afford fast cars straight away R&R Racing will be hosting races where fast cars will be used and everyone is welcome to apply to become a member of the R&R Racing Organisation.

Like in real life not everyone can afford everything hence paid supercar rides renting is a thing.

Also the dedicated playerbase that we have on eGO spends hours upon hours on the server everyday trying to have fun and enjoy interesting RP scenarios and it does not matter if they have everything and there is no longer a reason to make money. People were still joining for a long time to enjoy the RP. But when everyone as everything, like I mentioned before, the RP becomes forced and as enjoyable. I trully believe that the dedicated playerbase will enjoy this current economy as they will still be putting in the same amount of hours every day to enjoy the RP, but this time it will be a natural and enjoyable RP for a long longer.

With the current economy and once all scripts are fixed and polished the server in my opinion will feel more natural, revitalized and super enjoyable, especially with a group of friends.

Also it's been only 2 or 3 days since the reset and not everything is complete, yet without giving it a change people are saying that it's bad and it should change.

and I'm going to repeat my self once again as I trully believe that this economy is best one yet and will increase the server's longevity and that it will be super fan with a lot of freedom for RP.

This is just my opinion and I don't intend on this being a start of a fight, just my option regarding this topic.

How does the amount of money you have restrict you from roleplaying?: To an extent, I want to buy cool trucks and cars! No money = No siq rides bruv

How does the difficulty of accessing super cars restrict you from quality roleplay?: Its much more difficult to RP car shows without cool cars!

How does the difficulty of obtaining automatic weapons and long guns restrict you from quality roleplaying?: It does not.

Are you wealthy or do you own any of those in real life?: I am comfortable, and have had race cars (not supercars) as well as long guns :P

To be honest, super cars shouldn't even be considered when talking about economy balance. A decent number for me, would be $10k per hour. This allows you to buy a low end sedan within an hour or two of play. Mid range vehicles are in the 20-40k price range, and "high end" vehicles are around 60k. I say high end, because most sedans in the mid range category like the charger and camaro are going to outperform suvs and trucks in the 50-60k range if we're only talking about speed.

Now onto super cars. The reason they shouldn't be considered when discussing balance, is that they aren't a necessity, and they honestly do not really contribute positively to the roleplay experience. The only thing a Lamborghini provides that a dodge charger doesn't, is looks and speed. However, nobody is realistically going to buy a Lamborghini and speed 220mph up the freeway, they're going to buy it to turn heads as they visit fancy areas. They buy it to look wealthy and important, but nobody does this in game. They buy it to race on an airstrip, which would never be allowed in real life.

I'm sorry, but you can't really be trying to argue that you can only roleplay or have fun when you have a super car.

How does the amount of money you have restrict you from roleplaying?
I never necessarily said you can't RP without money, I'm saying it would make the overall experience on the server more enjoyable for those who choose to base most of their time around civilian RP. As I will state below, there are many things that impact how people RP/enjoy the server, many of those things requiring money to work.

How does the difficulty of accessing super cars restrict you from quality roleplay?
The Lamborghini was just an example, I'm not trying to base this whole suggestion around cars.

How does the difficulty of obtaining automatic weapons and long guns restrict you from quality roleplaying?
I also didn't say this. There are many things money is useful for instead of illegal items (repair costs, transport costs, food/water, gas, donations, apartments, etc). Speaking for myself, I have never felt a need to spend my money on the more illegal guns.

Are you wealthy or do you own any of those in real life?
Like I said on the top, there is a fine line between realism and enjoying the server. Just because I don't own a Lamborghini in real life doesn't mean I shouldn't have the opportunity to do it here. That's why many of us play, to get a second chance to do things we couldn't do in real life (while abiding by the rules).

I did the math, it would take 2 hours a day for nearly 6 months to be able to afford a stock Lamborghini. This isn't all about cars though. I 100% would love to see more activity and RP for the transport agency, but forcing civs to do so isn't the right way of doing it.

"The way the economy was before the reset was fine." - was so fine that we had to do a whole server reset after just 6 months because everyone has everything and you had to force yourself to come up with RP scenes. It burned me out ( and many others ) as all RP felt forced and low effort.
I agree.

I agree, however like I said in Discord, not everyone likes to RP the same way. If some people want to get their wallets stuffed and have fun with their friends, they should be able to do so. If some people want to think of fun RP scenes not involving money, they can do so whenever and however they want.

Nothing will change with this if prices are buffed a bit, you and many others will still be able to see different profits and think of business ideas.

You also mentioned that taking away the thing that a lot people enjoy - I take it that you mean high end cars, races, car shows etc.
Not necessarily, I didn't mean to make it sound like my suggestion was based around strictly cars. I meant that the current economy is taking away the freedom and sense of satisfaction that encouraged so many civs to stay.

You do not need supercars to host car races or car shows. It not about just having a good looking car, its about the history you come up with for that car. It's not always about the car that has most money put into it. It's also about the cars that people build over years from plywood and some plaster and then painted it all so it looks nice, that they put effort and passion into.
With all due respect, I think it's fair to say (irl) the best looking and sounding cars usually win the show. Also, I didn't have hosting car shows or races in mind when I made this suggestion.

Also to go back to what I said above and to include the racing thing. I'm a huge car enthusiast across different styles like stance, drifting builds, clean road builds etc. I appreciate it all as it all has a story to it and some of those stories are beautiful. Some people like legal races with stock cars, some like illegal races with custom cars.

Like I said above, not everyone likes to RP the same way, hence the server shouldn't be "forcing" them to do so. That's the point I'm trying to get across. Thanks for the feedback.

To those still reading my suggestion, please don't think of it as just a request to get cars easier and faster. It's not about the cars. It's about getting our civilian playerbase back, not pushing them farther away.
