Concurrent Enrollment

Have you ever taken a college class while in high school, or in other words, taken a concurrent enrollment class?

If you have, do you have any advice for those considering it (such as me, I am about to be a junior in HS)?

Took Calc 3 while a junior in high school. The class imo wasn't too bad, just need to actually study and use resources. It isn't like high school where you can sort of BS your way thru an exam, sometimes the professors can be nitpicky and expect exams to be challenging, but it's rewarding and helps to boost your college gpa/save money in college

At my school, concurrent enrollment classes were just the regular high school classes. Our college (Friends University) had some requirements like an extra final to do and that stuff and our HS teachers had made changes that the college professors suggested.

Personally, they were rather easy and very practical to use. I'm now almost considered a sophomore in college due to the classes offered.

I took 2 college computer classes while in high school (hardware and networking). I loved both though so it was fun to do and never stressed me out.

In the US, AP is approved college curriculum with a test at the end of the year by the college board

IB is an international standard

Once again, neither exist in my region. Suppose it would help to know what courses the user is trying to get into and what's available in their area.

How do you not have IB it's all over Europe, Canada, China, etc..


Also OP check community colleges in your area some offer free college courses over the summer. Right now focus on the major standardized tests if you have any like SAT etc

i took 5 uni courses in my sr year of highschool, it was ok but a lot to manage

english lit, astronomy, geology, 2 histories (modern and 1400-1990), and a computer science and game design course

I took about 25 credit hours in high school. I HIGHLY recommend taking dual credit or college credit classes in high school.

Yeah
But the curriculum is "easier" than IB and approved by college board, once you pass the AP test most colleges accept it as a credit for college
