Make the barrier to be a guard at least one hour of active playtime

Sam's suggestion didn't go well because of the fact that you would have to be an e tag to be a guard.

But come on. The 8 hour active playtime to get priority queue doesn't work well. It rarely stops mfkers. Removing the priority queue and adding one hour of playtime makes it harder for people to join CT, yes, but anyone who plays right now and is a regular should be able to get past that 1 hour marker easily.

Edit: Here's the suggestion: get rid of the priority queue and force players to play ONE hour of JB before they can get access to CT.

Yea the 8 hour to get priority queue is just annoying whenever a new update/plugin comes out and everybody has to wait for that thing, yea and it doesn't really stop mfkers, it kinda does but they can still get on ct without it, if it were to be 1-2 hours playtime then it would be preety good.

Yea I agree, after dealing with the whole MFKers situation today it certainly would feel a lot better as a prevention tool.

i know that a couple of other jb servers have this sort of thing and i think it would be a good addition for the reasons others have listed

e: im assuming this also keeps the 8 hour prioroty time in place

You say this, but you haven't seen the server with it less than 8. Even when it was 6 we had an insane problem with people mass freekilling. 1 hour will be so much worse.

-1 please do not go any lower than 8, it's been done before and people will beg in a couple weeks to have it changed back.

What does this suggestion even mean 1 hour is less than 8

Ok so rn the way it works is you need 8 hours to get max priority queue, without max priority queue ur skipped to the back cuz others have max priority queue, with low priority queue or whatever u can still get on ct if there are ct's needed and theres no one in the queue, he's suggesting so you need atleast 1 hour playtime to be at all on ct, to even be a able to join in.

TL;DR: He's suggesting a 1 day ct ban for new players. (Kinda not exactly)

Not the passive priority queue. I'm talking you are being forced to have 1 hour of playtime BEFORE you get to be a CT. The post may have been vague, but all I'm saying is that people should have one hour of playtime under their belt before they get to be a CT.

The priority queue doesn't do this effectively because people with no knowledge of the rules can be a CT.

I'm still trying to make sense of this suggestion and its entirety.
Suggestion: get rid of the priority queue in favor of a system where new people need to play for 1 hour before they can join the CT side.

So, what your suggesting is that we bin the current system (where a player has to have 8 hours of alive time to obtain max priority queue) for a system that makes it to where a player now only has to have a total play time of an hour to negate those troublesome players from breaking rules as a Guard? Food for thought, if there is a will there is a way and those problematic players are going to exist regardless, this is where you and every other admin steps in.

I get that, there's always going to be bad actors, but it prevents alternate accounts coming on and mfking after the original was banned. It makes it harder and forces the person to think if it's worth it before doing it.

There's not a perfect solution, but I really don't believe the priority queue solves anything but just aggravating good players without 8 hours of playtime and being forced to sit out when they want to play or even when they are a CT and get swapped because of someone else's priority queue (which frankly is a shitty policy).

The problem I see his is that 1 hour is not enough to fully learn jailbreak. In order to get 8 hours of alive playtime, you will be playing 12-18 hours of jailbreak for most players. I even got it done in 9 hours on one of my ban evasion accounts back in old maryvale, and Ctrl can vouch for this. 1 hour for me would be absolutely nothing. I think that what you are trying to fix sounds great, but your approach would just lead to more inexperienced CTs accidentally mfking, such as not giving 3 seconds which isn't common to other servers. I think the priority playtime should stay in place, however, in order to join CT in the first place you need one hour of alive playtime. With both of these measurements in place the server would be a lot calmer.

On the other hand, I'm not sure how necessary this really is. MFKs happen rarely and when they do, it's often in a way a nice break from the uptight ruleset. It's like one round where you can laugh at someone else. Not that mfks are good, it's just without them we can all agree Jailbreak would be a little more mundane.

The max priority queue thing isn't that good, yes it can stop new players from comming onto CT, but it really only does that at the start of the map. Take for example spy vs spy, at the start the queue is very high but after like 10-15 min the queue is 1 and it's really easy to get ct.

Even if 100hrs are required to join ct there will always be mfkers.
And I'm willing to bet that amount of mfkers would be supremely less than the amount that there is now.

The idea of the suggestion is to eliminate mass freekillers using alt accounts to come back on and guard again.

The queueing system that we have now doesn't do this at all. The only way to stop that with this system is hoping that someone with priority wants to queue into CT.

Yes, there always are admins on the server, but this system isn't trying to get rid of admin intervention, it's just an admin "tool" to help stop alternate account mfkers.

Being alive for an hour is super easy if you put a little bit of time into the game. People that just get on to mfk can still be toxic on T for the hour or so they have to be alive. It won't solve anything.

Also, whenever there's a new update, we wouldn't have any CTs, because the hours are reset.

Of course it's super easy to be alive for an hour. That's why I want it like that so everyone has the opportunity to be a CT with a little bit of rules under their belt. An hour of playtime may not give you all the rules available, but it can certainly be enough to be a CT.

The system isn't supposed to be the "end all, be all" of stopping MFK'ers, but it can stop someone in their tracks if they wanted to use an alt account.

And yes, the priority queue system does get reset every update. However, I feel like that's more of a bug than a feature.
