So currently, if you pass out from dehydration/hunger, you wait the full 12 minutes after the distress signal and nobody shows up to res you, you lose EVERYTHING and respawn at the hospital.

I suggest a compromise here where if you respawn, you ONLY lose illegal possessions. In real life, if you were in need of medical attention and couldn't move, EMS would arrive, if they saw anything illegal, they would contact the police to come and investigate and your illegal possessions would be confiscated, but all of the property on you would be maintained - Cash - equipment(Tuner chips) etc.(This refers to any type of respawn, not just hunger/dehydration death)

On top of this, I think the dehydration/hunger system could use a change. Maybe if civilians are around to help, they can give the user a bottle of water or food and the person can be brought back up to their feet using that.

An alternative to this concept is that when your dehydration/food bar runs out, instead of dying, you go into a completely drunken state where you can barely see and you can't walk straight or fast at all, you wobble everywhere until you drink or eat. Too often do I accidentally forget to eat or drink. In real life I would obviously feel dehydration or starvation coming on, ingame we don't experience feelings IRL lol.

Just my thoughts.

I am up for losing anything besides stuff that you can't lose, because you have to have them on you, ie; Tuner Kit, Licenses, etc. You can lose food, weapons, drugs, etc.

I could see people abusing this to get rid of illegal things when in police scenarios, let’s say they have drugs on them, they get shot by an officer and as soon as the timer is up they respawn. All the illegal things would be gone, even if an admin /brings them back to the scene to continue rp, the illegal stuff would just be gone and that means evidence can be proofed out of existence. Same if someone calls the police on someone in a drug spot, they can just do /die and respawn, any evidence of them running drugs would be gone which isn’t realistic at all.

You do realize that's how it is currently....May want to reread the post. We already lose everything on respawn, I'm suggesting we at least don't lose the legal things.

Because the same local that reported your unconscious body also picked you clean before notifying emergency services.

That's hardly realistic, at best you could put in an RNG for that to say whether your stuff gets returned or not to represent a potential local robbing an injured man, but really it's more annoying than anything. It adds nothing to gameplay for players to have to go out and rebuy their legal weapons, food, lose their cash, repair kits, medkits, etc.

There needs to be consequences to you dying.

Sure, except we're really not supposed to be dead. We're "downed" in 99% of the cases. EMS should arrive and save us, but it's a 50/50 chance that they or police will get to you in time. So really the majority of the cases where you "die" are where nobody got to your body in time to save you and in turn the "magical EMS" saved you. So still not dead. As for being downed by police, the consequences are the punishments the police provide. If you are downed and EMS get to you, you get put in the hospital for X amount of time. We don't need an overabundance of consequences.

If you go down and EMS don’t revive you I’d count you as dead. I’m all for having maybe more of a warning that your food or water is about to run out, but I think that would be sufficient for our current system.

Which leads back to my other suggestion. Food and Water loss shouldn't just kill you. I suggested a drunken state. You can also have the possibility of slowly taking visual damage when the bar runs out. Something like the survival games that exist. That OH SHIT moment when you realize you need to eat or drink.

And we're not dead, because we are only dead when we choose to kill off our characters. All respawning does is "wipe our memory of recent events leading up to the down".

That would be the warning system I was talking about. I just honestly think if you die and have to resplendent, that’s it, new life, go get new stuff. Makes 0 sense to keep anything.

I disagree, the actual death serves no purpose in a server where we don't actually die unless we choose to kill off our own character. This can be made so much better, I don't know why you suggest we simply settle. You could even make it where we can't die, we simply stay downed until someone comes to res us and no respawn option available. I simply see zero gameplay or roleplay benefit to losing your items when you respawn.

The issue with what you're suggesting, staying down until someone comes help you, really wouldn't work. Imagine you're on with no cops or EMS and that's it, your char is done until later on. The whole warning system for being close to dying though is a neat idea.

If none are on, you'd simply relog. It's a roleplay server after all. If roleplay can't progress, you fix the moment and continue.

das illegal

It's actually not. Combat logging is illegal. If you are in your own scenario, I'm pretty sure the rule is it is your choice whether or not to consider the downing an accident and fix it or to "RP it out and die".

"Combat Log / Purposeful Disconnect
When engaged in active roleplay players shall not disconnect from the server until the scenario has completely ended. Characters involved in criminal activity must be completely clear of any Law Enforcement interaction before disconnecting. Accidental disconnects should be communicated via Discord or TeamSpeak."

So after reading this, I think the rule I'm thinking of was from another server, but I feel like it fits into these guidelines fairly well. The incidents I'm referring to do not relate to being in an active roleplay scenario. I'm speaking on when no EMS or PD are available to res you, so basically this rule means the same thing I'm thinking of.

If you are downed and NO EMS or PD are on, it means there is no active criminal RP scenario left for you to play out as there is nobody to catch you. I would say worst case scenario, if you robbed someone and they downed you but no one is on to revive you, you relog and share the same assumption as respawn that your memory of that person and events leading up to your death are erased.

But again, relogging seems like a ghetto rigged solution to an ingame problem. I think legal items should simply be kept on respawn.
