Not that there's going to be a huge influx of new players anytime soon, I thought it might be a good idea to create a thread with some tips and/or other things that you notice that help you play...and the forum has kind of turned into a problem-reporting area instead of being more like a gathering place anyway. It needs a little of the febreeze.... ;)

I don't have that many, and what I've come across is probably old news to most of you folks, but what the hell...whatchoo got? And remember...if it's a tightly-held secret to you you might as well share it, the game's not that long for this world I'm sure.

Anyway, here's one.

Mortar observation
- Mortars will always fall in a slant from the direction of the recon who sent them. If that recon can mortar you, you can spot him. As they fall, mortars fall away from the slant....move left or right to avoid them.

I find that if the enemy wouldnt move left or right and would stand still, I could hit them alot better :w00t:

Clowns to the left of me,
Jokers to the right!

Here I am!! Stuck in the battle with you....

:)

OK, because I've never found a clear answer: Is there a spotting limit (range wise) for the different weapons / classes? I've been ADS on say an SMG / Carbine, pressed the spot button on an enemy I can clearly see...and no chevron / spot.

Is it my overclocked toaster, or is this an actual game feature / bug?

Smoke is the enemy of Q. It makes the smoker and anyone near him spot-proof for at least 10 seconds. It's really obvious with the helos.

I've noticed that recons don't stay spotted for as long as normal grunts, and that when I'm assault I can spot a lot easier using my dart gun than I can with my rifle.

Someone must have delved into the stats/programming at one time or another...the game's oooold. ;) I'll see what I can find.

Flipping to the pistol works for me too. I think max range for spotting is about 400m. Don't click too often or too quick and remember that if every Q initiated a spot, there would be no need for an aimbot. Nononono, the game would be so lame.

OK...but I can clearly see people with a sniper scope or even an ACOG and it wont spot...but at the same distance, spotting while in the top gunner (MG) camera of a tank does work?!

My 2 cents worth.
The dart gun cross hairs dont always light up and you need to flip to another to another kit bit and back to get them back.....
And this one that gets me killed all the time (like i need help). When getting into any vehicle, a newly reloaded RPG often needs to reloads itself when you exit the vehicle. Happens at the WORST times. Wait extra time after reloading, then mounting up to avoid this.

That happens to me with the dart gun all the time...I just roll my mouse wheel back and forth one click.

Have you notice that the dart gun is amazing for spotting?

I've noticed that if I drop a box of ammo, then get in a jeep and drive across the whole map, when I jump out I still have to wait to drop another box of ammo. It's like the timer stops.
