CSS Crashing

Hi i was wondering if anyone has experienced an issue with CSS where it just crashes soon as you join a server? it use to work fine now my whole system crashes, whats weird is i can play GTA V, PUBG and other games perfectly fine it seems to just be HL2 engine games?and only crashes when i load in? :facewall::facewall::facewall::facewall:

for anyone that experiences this, to save you the headache type this inconsole when you open css (before joining)
cl_disablehtmlmotd 1

Fixed

Dont do what i done;
registry edits (online guides tell you to do this)
delete CSS/ reinstall
CHANGE YOUR WHOLE F****ING OPERATING SYSTEM

why?

BECAUSE IT DOSNT FIX IT

Sounds like you ran into a issue with something appearing in the MOTD message that shouldn't have appeared (perhaps a faulty/bad ad, or an ad with pop-up window coding that perhaps doesn't work with the MOTD coding)

If you ever encounter something like these while on eGO and you're able to get a link to the faulty ad - unless the procedure for it has changed, submit a post about it with the link in the Contact Leadership Forum (Originally known as the Dropbox Forum before the name changed)

MOTD has been having issues for quite some time for some people - Believe it's actually a bug with CSS that Valve has never fixed. I have had it disabled for years on most source games due to on and off issues, as well as the occasional flash ad causing a problem.

I only play the eGo CSS Server so it can only be from a MOTD however its always just said the default motd until randomly it started crashing after pressing on on the blank MOTD

hello everyone,

It's supposed to crash the tab in isolation and not the entire phone. A kernel panic is never the correct thing to happen, stories it means an error was not caught properly.
