Im generially curious, what's your looks on this "vaping epicdemic" going on

So about 40% of the vape shops in my area have shut doors for good, I'm not sure if this is a issue in every state, but for sure mine. Here's my take on it.

We had a little bit of a issue with bottles of juice with artwork that could appeal to a kid, but we fixed that and moved on. But now all of a sudden there's all kind of sicknesses and diseases that people can attract from vaping, all because of 2 things.

THC Carts, and Juuling.

If you truly think about it, vaping had 0 reported deaths for a solid 6 years before all these black market THC carts came into play. Yes kids sneaking Juuls and vapes into schools is an issues, and they are spoiling it for people who really need it. Im 21, I started smoking Camel Crushes when I was 16. when I turned 18, a buddy of mine quit using dip and started vaping. It caught my eye, I gave it a shot, and ever since then I have not touched a single cig. Now within these last few months, a regular bottle of 60ML vape juice could cost up to 30-35$, when it used to be 15$. People are blaming vape shops for selling juice or vapes to minors. My person experience with this, that is not true with most decent shops. There are a couple shops who do that kind of stuff, and they should be handled accordingly. Anyways, I do look like im over 18, but every new vape shop I walk into the first thing they do is ID you. Iv never had a vape shop not ID me before. Hell iv went to the same shop for 3 years, they knew me like family, and they still ID me.

Anyways drop your opinions.

You know, we had that exact discussion in my College Writing class. Someone pretty much said my stance on it:

"Those kids who vape? **** those kids!"

Can't disagree really. It doesn't take a super smart person to realize that inhaling vapors into the place where air is supposed to be kept is bad for you. Now, I would definitely prefer people vaping than smoking/chewing dip. In that sense, it's helping in the very least and at most, you are on the road to quit altogether.

And no, the problem isn't kids getting the courage to buy a vape. They allow others to buy it for them and the ball starts rolling.

If were really going into this, I would make sure if you're going to take a stance, take and educated one.
Make sure you read your information off of trusted MEDICAL JOURNALS. NOT THE NEWS.
There's this tool called Google Scholar, you can look at thousands of published peer reviewed journal entries.
inform yourself, don't rely on a network to provide you with facts
The news has continuously misconstrued information to fit their own agenda and ideals.

Personally I feel like unless were talking about underage vaping, leave it be, Its a better alternative. Some news make it out like its healthier to smoke Cigarettes than it is to Vape.
I know people who are alive today solely because they quit smoking cigarettes, and switched to vaping. this includes 2 of my grandparents and my Coworker.

on the topic of underage use, according to the media its a catch 22. To have the alternative, while having some kids be addicted to nicotine, or to get rid of vaping products completely.
Media likes to create false dichotomies to push their political agendas, and fake news can spread very easily. If you would like me to link articles and videos to you about this topic let me know. I have them

To talk about the How people are getting sick,
There's safe vaping guidelines for the nicotine vapes, If you wish to stay healthy, follow them

If you're going to use THC and CBD vaporizing products, get them from a legal place, please. It's very dangerous otherwise.

As far the cost of vaping, with my local go to shop closing down, my wife and I decided to start making our own. At first it looks super complicated, but if you look up a youtube how to video, you realize it's SUPER simple and all the recipes and the recipe calculators are out there easily accessible. We now pay like 1/5 of what we were paying the shop for our own homemade vape juice.

As someone who uses vaping to avoid going back to cigarettes, it's mixed.

It saddens me to see it becoming something "cool" and I don't want new addictions to happen to people. I really don't.

But I also know that these cases are from something that isn't legal and reputable sellers don't condone this stuff.

That's why these guys die.
It's unfortunate but it absolutely sucks that people who are trying to quit a genuine addiction are being punished.
The flavors are what keeps me off of it. Knowing that there is something better and something I can track my intake reliability is better than me going back to the two packs a day I was on.

That's what I been thinking about because I can go through a 60ML bottle a week, easy, is it still cheaper then cigs, yes it is. But I can't afford to keep paying 35$ for 1 bottle of juice every week, not with 200$ a week for my tool guys at work.

Dankvapes.com should be slammed with heavy fines for illegal cartridges and dangerous ones. Putting water vapor in your lungs mixed with chemicals is pretty much guaranteed to give you brochitis or pneumonia. Its basically an alternative way to destroy your lungs. I've heard that some big companies have forced dangerous chemicals into the vaping cartridges despite the initial ones being pretty safe. Probably has something to do with cheaper production costs.

As for vaping i think it should remain legal, it just needs regulated to keep it a safer alternative to smoking.

Since I am someone who vapes and does THC pens, it's not that because people are dying due to THC pods or carts, it's more that they're buying fake carts and pods from street dealers, I've been smoking THC for at least 2 years now and nicotine 4 years.

PS: If you would like to know how to find if they're fake or not just flip the pod/cart upside down if the bubble in the pod does not move it means there is high THC concentration in it and there is no extra chemical added to make the process cheaper to sell for higher prices sometimes you can also look at the box and compared it to the website of products seller

you know what pisses me off is the puffbars, all i ever see on snapchat stories are "SELLING PUFFBARS SELLING PUFFBARS 10$"

As someone who vapes casually with no nic, if you know what your doing and don't go cheap nothing can go wrong.

Make sure the flavor is water soluble (easy test) to make sure there is no oil that can crystallize in your lungs
No nicotine for addiction 2 broke 4 dat lyfe
Get a quality box mod and make sure to replace atomizers and such when the time comes

vaping.. . . yikes.... so bad for the lungs.. why would i ever tinker with the devils smoke?

I quitted smoking exactly due to vaping (to a vape pen with evod battery , to be more precise). I understand that vaping today became a whole culture and fashion element among youth, but for me it was an effective remedy to get rid of smoking habit.

Saw your post and wanted to add that a couple of years ago, I was totally fine with vaping. But now it really turned into an epidemic. Everyone around me is vaping. Kinda annoying...

It would be interesting to read what people say about vaping now, 5 years after this post was created.

ngl in 2019 i got so many freshman hooked as a senior (one kid in our class gets it, spreads in our class, then the youngin's hear and get on in too)

whoops, most of us quit now tho

Even when vaping was relatively new, studies were being done on vaping causing popcorn lung. I'd be curious to see the results of the studies.
