Possible solution to limit the amount of daily hacking on eGO servers!

I’m sure you’ve all seen or heard of our “beloved” infamous hackers...
We have a player base consisting of 2 players daily harassing the JB server with alt accounts, and I would dare to assume that the other eGO servers also have a hacker or two that usually plays on the server.
Personally I think it’s a waste of the managers and admins time to keep logging into the JB server to keep banning their new auto generated accounts over and over again every day.
SO! I’ve been thinking of a possible solution and would love to hear if this is a possibility to secure our server against the consistent spam of hacker accounts with the goal to just limit the activity of them. Since IP banning is not an option then what if we put up a restriction on all eGO servers?

The following restriction is my suggestion:
- Be level 5 in Matchmaking rank
- or have 20 hours on CSGO / TF2 / GTA etc

Now I know you guys are not to firm of placing restrictions on the servers since we like to have open servers were anyone can play! However I dare to say that having 20 hours on CSGO or any game for that matter is not hard at all to get neither is it hard to get matchmaking rank 5!

I know that you can go prestige with you matchmaking rank and go from level 50 and back to level 1, but that will not be a problem to connect to the servers, since you have 20 hours in the game.

This might be extremely time consuming to make a reality, but this would in theory limit the possible amount of daily hacking activity to one account per day or even less. This would also tire the hacker out to have to go trough a matchmaking levelling phase or have to wait 20 hours just to get banned and waste another 20 hours before getting banned again.

Not sure how I feel about the second solution to hackers being to send them to our other EGO servers lol
 
There have been plenty of threads suggesting restrictions be placed on the server ever since CS:GO has become free, and I disagree with all of them including this one. Hackers and ban evaders are a nuisance to deal with, but putting in restrictions won't stop them from coming into the server. If someone goes through the trouble of consistently ban evading then I'm sure they won't mind buying an account that meets the requirements for 50 cents.

On the coding side of things, I think this would be extremely hard to implement if not impossible. Steam has an option for you to private your game activity, meaning your hours played and such are only visible to you and you alone. It would overall be a hassle and I see this chasing people away from the community if they had to unprivate their game activity every time they wanted to join. (Could be wrong, I'm not a coder myself but it's just what I assume.)

Cryptic no one is saying that we have to move the hackers from one server to another server.

Damon this is not to stop the hackers (Since that would be impossible), this is more or less to limit the amount of daily harass the hackers do towards the servers. I agree that placing restrictions on the servers are sad, but keep in mind that theese restrictions are restrictions that the entirety of the community already have achieved. It is not impossible to make either, however I'm not a coder myself either and it is after all only a suggestion, since I'd love to see a decrease of the daily harass to all servers. I cant say if the private profile is going to be a problem. However i know CSGO Backpack can track peoples items even if their inventory is on private. So it should be possible to bypass the private settings and track their playtime likewise. Again I'm only assuming this.

I understand what you're saying and what you're trying to accomplish with this thread, just don't think these 2 solutions give any benefit. To my knowledge there is no way of seeing someone's ingame hours if they have the hours set to private.
 
Although in theory it would limit them to 1 a day. In reality there's services that sell 5-10 accounts with 100 or so hours and level 2 accounts for 5 bucks.
The only way to truly reduce constant cheaters would be to enforce needing prime to play on our servers, which would make them not "free" to play on.
We all can pray for Gaben to come in with VAC 2.0
 
Dryden true it could be pay 2 get prime, but you can also obtain prime by reaching level 21 in matchmaking level.
If you have recently reached Profile Level 21 you don't need to do anything - users are automatically opted into Prime Status after reaching Profile Level 21.
So it would still make the server free to play, however that would make it even more demanding and time consuming that my current suggestion.
 
idk how I feel about this but something needs to be done, The minimum time limit should be set for our major servers like JB, TTT but maybe have MG and Surf still open to all since you can't really mfk/mrdm on them
 
I’m not saying this is the best solution.. but at this point people are asking for the server to become “prime only” which would make the servers even more restricted and would make the game have to pay. This is a good solution but a lot of the people in our player base does not have prime, so it is an even worse solution tbh. I’m just putting ideas on the table and opening up for a discussion since something needs to be done. Especially with the rumours of (corrupted) constantly joining JB to mfk or to spam the n word etc.... if anyone have better solutions then please go ahead.

Yes that’s true matrix you can really harm anyone on surf or Bhop / climb servers

i have a question then what if i want to play gta rp on the servers and i dont have 20 hours like what am i supposed to play then? so sorry to say thats a -1 for its not everyone that plays the different servers

The 20 hours was a case for CSGO in mind, you could put up other restrictions for different games

I know dryden, but i still feel like we should find some sort of solution.

Okay best solution with hackers make a video report it and bam the hacker got hackerino banned like how difficult is that, it takes 5 min. max

Okay... to put this into perspectice :) Then imagine this. CSGO is free to play, No restrictions on any eGO servers (which means you can download the game and join) and atm there is the mic spam bug when you are dead if you rejoin mid round.
Now that we have the real situation, then do you still suggest that I or anyone else record someone rejoining and mic spamming a racist song with the N word being used every 2 sec in the song, and then listen to them spamming that song for 4 hours before they get banned on forums? Personally I dont, and those I've talked to neither wants to wait for them to get banned trough forums.

This is why i am eager to find a solution to this problem. The Mic spam problem will be fixed eventually yes... But the hackers can still daily join in and harass and get banned and then make a new account. Thats why i want to find a way to slow that process down. (its impossible to stop them from joining, but instead of banning 10 accounts if not more a day, then i rather have 3 accounts banned a day or less)

well thats the only way, or if there is a vip make them vote ban for 30 min, for it does sucks but thats just how it is, you just gotta eat the bad apple and let go through or just try to get an admin on

I understand your point of view, and trust me when I say that I have been harassing Larry and Custom over and over again in teamspeak to get quick bans on theese people the last 2 weeks. And i am quite sure Larry and Custom have other things to attend to that sitting all day in JB banning them. eGOs also have a life outside of eGO, so they are neither always available.

well ofcourse they do have a life you can add me on steam and i will try to get on when im not at work and try to help out like i have everyday to do nothing other than playing cuz i dont really have a life after work XD, but you dont have to get custom and Larry to do it though just msg other admins to get them on if they ofcourse have the time
