I would like to suggest a new legal repercussion be added to our current system. Automated Probation
If you are arrested and sent to prison, you are now on a 1 week probation period. What this means is if you are pulled over during the next 7 days after the arrest, you and the vehicle you are currently in are subject to search without consent. This excludes vehicles you are a passenger in. If you are found as a passenger with illegal weapons or narcotics, the vehicle and it's occupants may now be legally searched without consent. If you are caught breaking the law while on probation, you will be arrested and your probation will reset.
This system can be automated by having the criminal records system add a 7 day timer upon entry of an arrest report. When searching this individual during these 7 days, a red bar will pop up on their record showing that they are currently on probation and how much time is remaining as well as that they are subject to searches of their person and their vehicle. Additionally, the subject should have a means of checking their own probation timer but that's an extra.
My goal for this is to cut down on the rampant drug running immediately after being caught running drugs, same goes for illegal weapons. Criminals will have to get craftier about how they run their drugs. At the end of the day, if we are pushing for civilians to act with more realism, we should have systems in place to discourage constant crime and make them increase their level of roleplay beyond speeding through lights and selling dope and guns.
I believe that with our realistic driving rules alongside current policies, this will open up roleplay on both the department and civilian side of things
I fully expect nearly every criminal to disagree with this lol However I feel we should have something in place to discourage someone from going out and breaking the law just after they spent months in prison.
