Bad Company 2 Incognito

We prefer to not go undercover and to show we have admin powers in case there is anyone who needs help. Yes its annoying but you can also call an admin online with teamspeak or discord.

+1 Your tag there says BATTLEFIELD but this happens in CS:GO to. It would be really cool because then they see what happens when they aren't being quiet because "=(eGO)= .... .. connected." means to them Oh my! I need to be nicer and not break as many rules!

I was thinking of making the post myself but you beat me to it.

Well you could look at it both ways.

From an admins perspective it would stop rulebreakers that think they can rule the server when no admins are on.

However, from a normal players perspective, lets say someone is rulebreaking on BF (I play CS idk) you would usually check to see if an admin is on and ask for their help.

As far as going in as " just " an " e " , and dropping my rank that is literally impossible and " misleading " , I worked to get my rank and am proud of it and to diminish that would be demeaning as well as against our rules I'm sure . I do go in " incognito " at times , but am not allowed to use my admin privileges then , which means I would have to quit the server and then come back in with my tags and a different name and that is only " if " I could get back in or not if the server is full . Your best option is to go into TS and speak to an admin , or go on our web page / site and report the perps , or put in a ban request and let management handle the situation . I know this process can be really aggravating and time consuming , I've been there myself quite a few times before getting my =(eGO)= rank , which I'm really proud of and will not diminish . Thank you for reporting an on going and much too often problem .

On a side note : you could actually join Edge Gamers and work your way up to a rank where you can actually do something about the perps :-) , the more the merrier , the more admins we have the more we can control what would be otherwise bad situations . You are more than welcome to join us on a more involved basis .

As several people have already said, getting on TS and letting Admins or Leadership know when there are players acting up is your best bet to quickly handle the situation. Leadership in particular can settle the server down very quickly as we do not have to log in and the players do not see us in game, but we can monitor their chat and /K or /B from outside of the game. Letting players know that they can be monitored and handled without an Admin present in-game.

In addition to what others said, we actually did discuss this fairly extensively and decided against it - the cons outweigh the pros too much.

The biggest one would be that our admins are here to play first, admin second. Them coming in and going "undercover" means their working on admining, not playing.

I'm positive you don't need any kind of permission to access TS because I do it all the time. Are you trying to enter an admin section maybe?

When the griefing/raping gets to be too much, I pop in to TS and navigate to the BFBC2 room. I'm not a big fan of live chat so I don't usually try to speak to anyone, I just sent a text message direct. Beemermarine is usually there and leaves his channel open even if he's not active and usually shows up pdq on the server.

I think the problem with auto kick for base rape is that it means that anyone can shoot out of the uncap without fear of reprisal...or if someone does shoot back they'll get kicked. I gotta tell yah...that would piss me off if people started using that as a strategy. heh.

Mercer, take the time to put in a ban request. Why did you get your =(e)=, maybe as a first step to become an =(eGO)=? Giving out warnings about rule infractions, looking for eGO's, having patience, doing what you can are the things that you do on the way to more responsibility. Even as eGO I've seen the "kids" act out on the field ad haven't been able to pursue every meanie but the game gets played out.
