So I've been hearing a lot of people asking for new maps (this was before the updates but still relevant) and the most often suggested maps have been:

mg_kohztec_course
mg_saw_3_
mg_super_tower_v3
mg_savetheisland_course_reskin

Whenever I bring up the idea for new maps everyone's first suggestion is always mg_kohztec_course, it is a fantastic course map that I've tried out a few times and I really enjoy it. https://gamebanana.com/maps/186009

For as long as I've been playing Minigames, I've always heard people begging for mg_saw_3_v1 to return, (Nami) and it really seems to be a favourite to many. This map has also been suggested to me many times. https://gamebanana.com/maps/175301

When I started asking around for maps people would like to see added that weren't course maps, many people jumped to mg_super_tower_v3, I tested this out and thought that it wouldn't be a bad addition, it definitely wouldn't be anyone's favourite map, but it is definitely a playable map that would be cool to see. https://gamebanana.com/maps/178369

For a long time it felt like I couldn't play savetheisland without someone commenting on how the reskin is much nicer and would be better for the server. I've seen screenshots of the reskin and actually like it a lot, this would be nice to see. https://gamebanana.com/maps/192300

There has also been a lot of thoughts on removing this map as well.

So I can already guess this is going to be very controversial, but I totally think that this map shouldn't be in the map pool anymore. I've heard the following statements many times, "Boring" "kills the server" "nobody can beat it" "not enough time" and I agree. For one, this map can be called boring for more reasons than any other course map because of 2 reasons: 1. The majority of players can't get past level 50, and there are many that can't even get past level 10 or under.
2. The map has no visual appeal to it, you are in a small room the whole game with nothing to see but purple, unlike other maps where if you get bored at least it looks good. (This might just be me idk)
I probably hear that this map kills the server more than anything else about this map. It isn't hard to see many players either leave when this map is played, as soon as we get on it, or a little in because they can't beat a level. I picked up a few scenarios where the server's player count drops.View attachment 22227View attachment 22228View attachment 22229 Now, these screenshots aren't hardcore proof that playing this map makes everyone leave, but it's important to notice the decline in players when this is played. I think the reasons for this are that very few can beat it, and most players get stuck at a level and quit.
Now on to nobody being able to beat it, this isn't really a strong point, but most course maps don't really have this struggle with nobody being able to beat it because it feels like you have so much time, while in 100traps there is a constant timer on when you have to beat it by, and if you fail you have to play the map again and again, and this soon gets redundant, you either finally beat it and don't feel accomplishes at all because you had to go through the same levels countless times, or you give up, wasting your time on a map you no longer like.
With there being this amount of time leads to two thoughts, I don't want to play this map, it has such a long timer on it, and, there is literally no time for me to beat this map, why bother. I think messing with the time on this map wouldn't be a good idea and would help out the popularity of the map.
One last thing I'd like to point out is that although you can rtv this map, with it being one round, you either have to guess when to rtv the second time, and get everyone else to as well, or just wait the 30 minutes. The reason why I say it's difficult to get everyone else to force rtv the map is that usually by the time people realize they can force rtv, there's already 3 or fewer minutes left, why bother.

That's why I and so many others think that 100traps should be removed from the map pool, hopefully never to be played again.

I delayed this post due to a few reasons, the main 2 being that I forgot/too lazy, so sorry to everyone I promised this would be out a month ago. please feel free to post your comments on the maps I suggested, and the idea for removing 100traps as well since I know there are a few fans.

Thanks for all the recent map updates, sorry that I posted this so soon after them, but I really wanted to comment on 100traps, saw3 and savetheisland reskin for all my friends too lazy to make an account. Thanks!

Skipping levels could be abused in a way but that really depends on the person and how much they actually care to beat it. You could always add a cool down timer to a /skip command which would make it fine. I personally dont think anything needs to be worked with when it comes to 100traps. However given that there are people who do struggle with beating the map, you could possibly make like a save/load position? Basically so say someone got to level 50 in the 30mins timer the map offers, they can do a command such as /save i guess and next time they are able to play 100traps again they can do /load or whatever and go back to where they were previously. If i remember right there are bhop/surf servers that had type of thing to save and load your positions for difficult maps. So maybe its a doable thing? If it is then cool, but really if it isnt something that can be done i dont think anything really should be done to the map. Just my thought though.

If you are able to skip a difficult level that you are having trouble with, then you also skip the accomplished feeling you would have gotten. I said that you either beat the MAP and don't feel accomplished because it took so long because that's exactly what happened to me and others. I know that I had a few troubled with some levels, but the only fun I had in 100traps was being able to overcome these levels, but in the end, it was all worthless because by the time I beat the map, I played it 20+ times, at 30 minutes, so 600+ minutes to beat it. By then I hated the map and didn't care about winning. And you also wouldn't feel accomplished at all along the way if you could just skip the difficult parts.
So 1. You don't feel good by beating the map after spending so many hours on it.
And 2. You won't feel good by beating the map if it was extremely easy and you could just skip everything.
Exactly why I think this map needs to be removed instead of a fix that either won't help or will make it worse.

I understand being stuck on a level is boring, it sucks not being able to pass some dumb part that everyone else can but you just can't. Well, do you really think that the player is going to feel good by being able to just completely pass that level and have no fear for the rest of the map because if they get stuck they can just skip it? Everyone would be beating the map, nobody would be having fun (still) and the map would have to go down 10 minutes because everyone can beat it by then.

The reason the server dies is due to many reasons, one being players get stuck on a level, but the main reason being that the map straight up sucks. What I mean by this is everyone has played this map, meaning that everyone knows what this map has to offer, nothing worth playing, so they leave for 30 minutes. It's not all just that players get stuck, there is much more to it, adding small "fix" like this will also kill the server because nobody will care for the map if the only thing to care about it is the hard levels, which some of us don't have anymore, so there is nothing for us to care about.

I stand by this, if I was a new player and let's say I got stuck on level 34 because I suck at climb, so I later beat the map, I don't think I'm going to come back another time, just to see if I can get better at climb since there is no point, I can just skip it/I already beat the map, why would I care about this small level? I don't think "learning the basic idea of the map' is going to do anything, it's just another way to say, "Hey look! there are more levels, hmmm maybe there's even 100!" I don't see the point in "learning the map" but whatever.

As I've stated many times now but I suppose you missed was, I know what I'm talking about, I'm not contradicting myself, what I'm trying to say is that overcoming a hard LEVEL is accomplishing, but with/without this "fix" beating the MAP never will. Nobody will ever have fun on this map by being able to skip levels, and either way, beating the map never will be fun.

It's not at all that I don't want suggestions to help this map, but what I don't want are suggestions that just won't work, I hope my points prove that. Please if there are any more suggestions comment, but this one just isn't good, removing the map would be a much better idea.

100% I mean I pray this never gets added, but if it somehow did the last thing I would ever want would be to skip straight to level 100. Even though being able to skip long/tedious/hard levels accomplishes the same thing anyway.

By the way, every paragraph is a reply to each of your paragraphs.

It honestly sounds like the only reason you want the map removed is because you + a load of other people simply are unable to beat it. Which in my opinion isnt in any way a good reason to remove the map. It doesnt seem like the map is the problem because it really isnt, it just seems like a problem with people not wanting to take the time to actually learn and beat the map. I understand that it may be really annoying getting to a certain level and then not being able to progress because you simply dont understand what to do. I get it, stage 96 is a pain, along with the ones where you go under water and swim between the ground and roof thing and if you touch it you get sent back. And you say when you beat the map its not really an accomplishment because of how long it took to do so. Which i completely disagree. I was so happy when i finally beat the map, even though it was during an event and was set to an hour. But i still beat it and after like 2 30min sessions i was able to beat it in under 30mins and now i try to do it faster than the time before. The only issue i can really see with the map is that it starts to feel repetitive after a while but that can be said about every other map, even the new ones added after a while.

Couldn't have said that better myself

I took opinions from a large variety of players, players that have beaten it countless times, players that can get close to the end, players stuck in the middle, and players stuck closer to the beginning. I myself can beat the map, and my opinion still stands. All of these players dislike the map, it's not a matter of being able to beat it or not, since players stuck at different levels/have beaten it still agree that the map needs to be removed.
The reason I say that you don't feel accomplished is because it took me 600+ minutes to do so, some even longer, after playing the map this many times you get tired of it, you got lucky and got a whole hour, so I can assume you didn't play the map as much as the rest of us.

The reason for making this thread has nothing to do with me and others not being able to beat it, me and Nami (he's been the main reason for me wanting to start this thread) have both beaten the map, but we still have it gone.

Does the bhop server have obstacle course type maps? I'm pretty sure it doesn't 100traps isn't much of a bhop map.
