If we dont like to have unrealistc driving, then why did we ever make the cars go as fast as they go at the moment? Even added in tuners which made you go faster. I dont see a problem with going fast, if you go 200+ what impact will it have? At the moment it gets you in trouble with admins but why wont the cops roleplay it? My suggestion is to allow all speeds when roleplayed properly in case of a crash or any RP Situation, If the need is be add in a superfast cop car so that they can catch up. Let me know your opinions down below!

And when you crash doing 200 either with someone or Ai or what have you, we perma-impound your vehicle because thats realistic. Or the non-roleplayers (A very good majority of players btw) just take it to a garage and store it to pull it right back out again and act like nothing happened, or call a mechanic and say they were just in a "small accident" - That right there is low effort rp/no intent to rp IMO..

There are speed limits because that is realistic. In no populated city would you see every car doing 200+ through lights and driving a complete jack wagon because "I just bought it" or "I was about to go to the garage" - That just wouldn't make any sense to remove speed limits.

If people ACTUALLY roleplay'ed like they are supposed to (WINK WINK)

I like the rule as is, but it could be worked on. speeding at that rate is unrealistic to an extent, yes people drive like idiots irl, but not in snow, and not on windy or busy roads... now that I say this I realize that people actually do but regardless, its silly to be driving 200+
I don't like people who speed into garages with wrecked vehicles, to just repair them there.
Also people who like, spam 'e' to put it away, as its still going fairly fast.
there could (IMO) be people who rp putting the cars into garages better.

I would say just arrest them, if they do it again perma impound, i dont see the reason to have an admin get involved and stop with the roleplay. And if you see someone repair a wrecked car, it should IMO be considered Loweffort and maybe even failrp. Those are the people that should be admined, not the ones driving 200mph+ Aslong as they dont crash or anything i dont see a reason for it. You're stating that people crash at 200mph+ and then get their car to the garage, but why didnt you admin them then? That has nothing to do with the speeds but with the people driving the car. But then again, you restrict people from going fast, but you do give the cars that can go fast? Irl no god would freeze me and talk to me about driving 200mph+

You know why the cars do realistic speeds? Because that's what everyone wanted. Also, the tuners are a frickin cancer and if I had my way, they'd be removed entirely.

They don't do realistic speeds by the way, 200 in game is something like 70-80 IRL, it's just a unit movement vector with some math applied to "fake" speed.

It's why if you see a road sign say 50, and you go fifty, the AI doesn't exactly go 50.

I don't really know if this is the thread to include this in, and if it's not let me know (gta leadership) and I'll go ahead and make another thread about it. But for the topic of this thread, I would 100% disagree with changing the rule as it is. Now at least from what I've seen, I don't see very many speeding things become an admin issue, unless you're just driving like a pepega (such as going 200 down the highway in the snow etc). Think logically here, you're probably not going to ever drive 200 down the highway in the snow in real life. Now if there's an expectation for all other rp to be realistic, why would the driving not be included in this? Believe me I hate getting speeding tickets, or going to jail for reckless driving. But there's a difference between wanting to rp something out, compared to being a jackwagon and being unrealistic.

Now on to my rant about the speed thing. When you are pulled over for going 80 on the highway, and the speed limit according to the law book is 80, but the officer goes off the "posted speed limit signs" how can they be sure where you pulled onto the highway that you saw the speed limit signs? The reality is that they can't. So how would someone know that the speed limit posted is 60 if they didn't drive past the sign. I'm not going to go into much detail on this, because the situation that triggered me here isn't important, but rather I think this is something that needs to be considered. And either the posted signs need to be the speed limit, or we can ignore the posted speed limits and go to the law book and use those speeds as the standards.
