Is there a chance of getting a 24/7 office server stood up? If there are reservations what might they be?

eX

We had one, it didn't work out. Every time someone has asked for a new source server, it gets filled for the first week, maybe two, and then dies permanently.

The last time we added a second source server back, 4 of us played for an hour.

That was it. Literally. Incredibly dead.

We’ve already have office many times over the years too.

Another source server would just ruin the dust2 player base then die out like ^^^ have said

Not really. Dust2 is self sustaining. The same people have been coming to it for like 10 years and continue coming because they want dust2. Us opening another server would have no effect on dust.

Once eGO moved to CS:GO the source servers got quieter. We had a decent base of pubs. As time went on, less members played and pubs moved onto. Dust kept going because people love it, but servers like Italy, office, etc quieted down.

We try to bring servers back like office and all our member say they want to play it.

Guess what happens when we finally open it? Not a single member plays in eGO. Our own people don’t want to commit to playing but then yell when we close a server they haven’t played in months.

Mayhem Death Mayhem Death can attest to this with me - its a vicious circle we’ve gone through for a few years and have stopped supporting.

Hope this doesn't come across as horribly negative, it's just been a recurring thing for a long time now unfortunately and why we don't take starting servers lightly.

Sorry, reviving an old post. But what about map rotation on the Dust 2 server? Or some voting system that way majority can still vote Dust 2 but the off chance people might vote Office or Italy or something?

It would nuke the servers population. See my post above too about starting other servers.

People are coming to the server to play Dust2. When it changes even a tiny bit, they leave. Messing with old old servers that still retain good population is never good. It's been proven time after time across all of our source servers and doing a rotation like that has helped annilitate plenty of servers.

We've tried multiple other source server configuration and all have died except 24/7 Dust2. We also lack membership on CSS to actively bring servers up to a higher population if they start lacking or struggling. Everyone moved on to CS:GO years ago, except for a handful of people.

Now I can finally like Simons post like I said before

What happens to my post when I say I've asked around the dust2 community what they think about an office or even mixed old school classic rotation server? Everybody is on board with the idea. About it because they're tired of just playing dust2... I think where the problem lies is with promoting the server on the server side. "Or the administration is just worried that the dust2 servers "the favorite server" would become empty." There's been multiple servers that have run 64 man office servers without any issues. So I don't really see what the issue is. Unless it's funding... You have a community that is willing to donate for the server for you just to get it happening (ask that cheap bastard Jimi) even he said he was willing to donate. But if all I get is it's been tried in the past and it didn't work... I'm calling bullshit. People from this side of the world want some variety. You're "We're not gonna pay for it" is not an excuse anymore. You never promoted office or mixed server. This is only coming from someone that is forced to play this game because I'm being too cheap to buy a new gfx card(Though yes I can afford one, I just refuse until I know they've made them more stable.)... But there's also a lot of other people that can't just on the fly buy a gfx card that are stuck playing this game. I truely feel like you guys deleted all the supportive posts and just kept the EGOtistical ones saying it won't work...

It's not going to happen. Why? CSS is a dying game. We've opened other servers before and as Simon has said, people play for an hour and forget about it. It does get posted and promoted but players want CSGO or Dust 2. But then again you called those comments a bullshit excuse. So how about this little fact, when you look up the top 10 most popular CSS servers 1 is an office server while 6 are Dust2. Most people want Dust 2. Now if you could get 20 or 30 pubs to come onto the forums and say that they want and would donate for an Office server, it has a slight chance of happening. Pubs say all the time they would play on another server but when push comes to shove they don't back it up.

I could think of one solution. Give the admins, "eGo" that play the game itself, a chance to throw a random vote up from time to time to give some variety. Or even bring back the full 64 player extended version (I don't remember the name) of the map back. a full 64 man server on standard dust2 is just crud game play. give the "'players,"eGo'" a chance to actually admin. And throw some fun rounds in there while they're at it. So while, Cascsiany, you want to get hostile (as you almost always do)... I'm just looking at better/different/alternative ways of improving a dying game that you guys still support and want support for.

Don't worry about it... I'll go buy a new gfx card... You guys enjoy a dying server... Cucsiany.

24/7 office would be a bad idea since there would be little to no players, a HvH server would be a better idea. Only cheaters play office that's well known

IMO atleast
