This is just my opinion, and a few ideas that I have that I would like to get feedback from the community and my 170+ hours on this server.

Map knowledge is super important in csgo, not just in competitive but jailbreak.
In competitive you need to know positions, executes, strategies, grenades, etc.
In jailbreak you need to know positions, secrets, games, etc.

Too many maps are either never played, or just aren't very good and worsen the experience for most players.

I believe we should lower the map pool down to 7-15 maps, refine each of them to eGO's standards, and replace the weakest maps with new ones one-a few at a time.

This way, players will be able to learn maps fluidly and naturally, instead of playing offline. Fewer maps will have repeating gamemodes making for more fun and diverse experiences and play sessions.

Let me know what you think, this is just a thought. Please leave a response with your reasoning with WHY you believe so-and-so change should occur. -1 or +1 doesn't really tell me or any of the other players valuable information to better servers.

That's all, just here to have fun and a good time. Take care, everyone :)

-1 for me.

As of right now we rotate between a few set maps. Quake, Arcade, Undertale, Clouds, SpyvSpy, VIPintheMix, Beta, and Dojo with a few others becoming popular randomly for a bit. Removing all but the popular maps to refine them just makes the gamemode more stale for those who are the most consistent players. (Those will hundreds of hours). As of right now, I dont see any of the current maps as not within "eGO standards" and those that are a bit roughter IE. Dust2 gets updates to make them better. Removing the maps just removes the choice/chance of playing something different.

This has been brought up before, and I'll pose the same argument. People don't care. People love certain maps, like seriously. When maps like arcade, undertale, clouds, or VIP, are on, the server population increases drastically. People want to play these maps. And these people are willing to go to another server just to play it. If you remove certain maps from the map pools that happens to be someone's favorite, they are likely to leave to just join another server with that map. You'd be surprised on the amount of people that leave or join when it's a map they dislike/like.

Rotating between the same few maps is boring enough for me, removing the other maps entirely would kill the game mode for me. Firstly, I don't see a way to whittle the map list down without getting rid of player's favorite maps. Second, map knowledge doesn't come from a small map pool, it comes from many hours of experience on ALL maps and this is why the community seems to vote the same maps over and over again because the majority of players don't know many maps. On the other hand, experienced players ,no matter how many times the "best" or "most fun" maps are played at least in my experience, get bored because they have seen every secret and way to rebel/warden on each map. The large map pool fixes this issue with experienced players because of the novelty of playing on a old/uncommon map while also showing new players a map they can learn overtime. Finally, the meta of jailbreak is not the perfect round, where warden gets everything right or the T's get a gun and rebel, it's about the counter play. This means, when a map that isn't played often or when a secret widely unknown is used, it creates a new evolution of tactics because compared to csgo's competitive play based on aim and economy, these jb maps are based around a small amount of casual players where new strategies can evolve with new/underplayed maps. P.S. Just an idea from someone with 10x as many hours on the server.

It isn't fun to play the same maps. If I wanted to do that I would play competitive.

I do agree that something should be done about the map vote system. The same maps get played over and over again and it's boring to me frankly. Shower hits it on the nozzle that players who are essentially veterans on the server get bored and tired of the ez rebel secrets.

Removing all of the underplayed maps and focusing primarily on the overplayed is going to severely turn those veterans away from the game mode.

Now, I think increasing the map cooldown would bring in some newer maps into the server.

We should have a no nominations day where for one day the server chooses random maps to play it would help to show those slept on maps

Why only one day in a week? Some people might get demotivated by this if you get me. I would say e.g. every 3rd (4th,... etc, u get the point) map should be selected randomly by the server.

Also, I believe the server knows which maps are being played all the time, so e.g. the server would have a sorted list of the maps and the server will pick one of the maps that is in the lower half (sorted by how often the map is played). I think this would "freshen" up the server and literally force players to try out new maps, maybe they will find a new map which they will like and might become a new meta. :)

With the server selecting a map, I would somehow restrict rtv. Instead of being able to rtv after first round/x minutes, lets say the map has to be played like half of the whole time (prolong the time before RTV is enabled). Ofc. a half might be an overkill, but its the idea that counts ;)

After hearing feedback from other people on this thread, we do not feel that removing maps from the server would be of any benefit, and would make the server stale rather than making improvements. Thanks for the suggestion~
