Intel is great but lately AMD has came out with great deals for CPU's

Ryzen 5 2600 went on sale for $100 CAD! :w00t:

Ditto. Before AMD stepped up their game I was a hardcore Intel fan, but then I realized that AMD isn't actually too horrible. If I were to build another computer I'd still probably go with Intel tho, just bc :shrug:

3600 for $150 USD 12 threads is amazing, rendering with AMD VCE ohh lordy its amazing

AMD more bang for your dollar these days. Intell overall strong but you're gonna pay more.

I've predominantly bought Intel for a long time and still happily would. But I now really go on a case by case basis per build, what I need, and what budget I have. I've been happy with both over the years.

My latest desktop is a Ryzen 2600 though. But my new laptop is an i5-8265, which I have really enjoyed. I leave it slowed down to 1.8Ghz for battery and it lasts for hours, runs quite well for most uses and uses little power. When I need the power, it's there though.

if you go for intel you are throwing money away. the amd ryzen cpus are just as good if not better and cost way less money per performance.

I went for intel with this one. I have a lot of friends recommending me to get AMD for the next build (less budget) but idk I still have time to think about it, but I was born and raised with intel. So it is gooing to be really hard to trust anything but intel.

The numbers speak for themselves, if you want practical go AMD, otherwise you can go intel

Intel all the way. I always swore by AMD for years, but in my case once I went with Intel on a build I was sold. Yes, more dinero, but imho it's worth it.

I have an Intel system right now, mainly because I got it prebuilt. I am saving for a new AMD build because they're just crushing it with their CPUs. lately, and for a great price. Even some of their GPUs are pretty awesome. They're better for cost- per- performance then Intel, which is great because I don't have any money and I'm setting a $1200 limit for my build.

Intel atm...but heavily considering AMD for the next one. Might a few years more though, who knows maybe Intel catches up by then

Maybe its because I always used intel, but I never got how AMD progression worked. For example, I know that an i7 is better than an i5 *regardless of the number after that* but I don't know a lot about AMD and its progression.

If someone can explain AMD to me, than I might go AMD.

Cheers,
~Capt

Surge_Wave Surge_Wave
Ryzen3->Ryzen 5->Ryzen 7->Ryzen 9

Additional progression within each of those categories is like Intel
