I've noticed the LR games have been getting quite stale, and brought up some ideas in the server (Jailbreak), where I was asked to make a thread of all possible LR ideas I had. Of course, not all need to be added, just thinking of new things to add to the server and giving people a new reason to try and make LR.

1. Chicken Game
- Jump on the other persons head to win the game
- Knifing / shooting are considered "cheating" or "rebelling" and can be killed for

2. Most jumps wins
- Saw this on a CS:S Jailbreak server, was really popular among LR's
- Title is self explanatory, the person who jumps the most within an allotted time (ie. 10 seconds) wins the LR, and the other is slayed
- This can be fun because jumping underneath objects bounces you right back to the ground, allowing you to jump really quickly in succession. It'll be cool finding different areas where you could find the best way to reach the most jumps
- Could start off with a 5 second countdown to allow the CT being LR'd to find a place to get the most jumps

3. Human Toss
- Kind of like gun toss, except with your actual body
- Each person would jump off a specified ledge, and land. Farthest person wins (not sure how this would be coded, just an idea)
- Can be modified, ie. one bhop allowed after landing, 2 bhops allowed after landing, etc.

4. Russian Roulette (could be named eGO Roulette)
- Also saw this on a CS:S server, was popular as well
- T and CT get frozen in place (like hot potato), and a deagle is spawned in a random persons hand. They then take turns shooting each other in the head (or if modified, in the chest or leg or anywhere)
- If the deagle has no ammo in it, pass it to the other person. Randomly, the deagle will be given 1 ammo when dropped and picked up (I hope I'm explaining this well enough)

5. Simon Says
- Text pops up on screen saying "Simon says jump once", both CT and T will have to do this command
- Sometimes the text will only read "Jump once", where if you jump you die, because simon didn't say
- Jumping and crouching can be implemented, as well as a certain amount of times (ie. "Simon says jump twice")
- An allotted time is given to complete an action when it says "Simon says ---" (maybe 2 seconds or even 1 second?)

These are just some ideas I had, as well as some LR's I've taken and modified a little from other servers I've been on. Most of these games I've played and are pretty fun and popular! Leave CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM if you'd like on why these shouldn't be added, or what could be changed to make these better!

the problem with lr is gun toss is the only lr that you can get kill credit for and is actually skill based. need something along those same lines

What about no scope battles? Also, hot potato has some skill to it as well.

Some of these are also skill based, such as human toss, simon says, most jumps, and chicken game. The only one that isn't really skill based is Russian Roulette.

I also believe people should stop caring about kill credit. If a game is fun, it's fun and you should play it. That's my opinion on it, although I know most people are pretty kill hungry and just want to be able to rebel and kill CTs for free.

here are my full thoughts on the ideas:
1. Seems interesting, but I don't see a way the game could begin with collision where the T can't have an advantage in positioning. Also sounds like it could easily drag out.
2. Would be fun with all the starting points the T could choose.
3. Feel like this would just be guntoss with less strategy and even less ability for someone not so good at strafing to win.
4. Hot potato/rock paper scissors but you shoot and basically have no say on the results.
5. Could maybe be interesting as a game that is agreed on by both Ts and played with all players, would definitely drag out and be boring for the dead.

These ideas are alright but adding something like race where the CT cannot refuse like a custom, would be, in my opinion, much better than the other suggestions.

About your noscope battle and hot potato comment: Noscope is mostly skill based with an accurate weapon like the scout, but when you factor doing this same game with 10+ CTs, there will eventually be a lucky CT that wins while not being as skilled as the T. Hot potato is essentially 95% luck. Where there is ~1.5 seconds between each throw and during that time each side can die. A .1 or less second difference in throwing the deagle early makes a very small difference. Apply the 10+ CTs and it is a bad game.

The biggest problems with LRs is the time it takes. It is not very uncommon for the 2 minutes to stretch out to its entirety, wasting every dead player's time(an hour total if 30 players are dead!). Gun toss is so popular because for the skill it takes vs. the others, and how fast it is, which used to be a big deal when the LR time could be less than a minute.

I Like #3 and #5, explanations are simple and well thought out. #3 could maybe be an LJ as well idk.

Problems I can see with #1, #2, and #4:

#1 sounds hard to program for very pointless game. Also running away forever is an easy way to waste people's time.

#2 Idk how anyone would have fun with this. Especially for very flat maps. Seems like only way someone wins is if they're near something. Its just two people jumping: verrrrry boring especially considering the standard of other current LR options.

#4 There shouldn't be 2 forms of a 50/50 LR, (Hot Potato) it's the same game. I'm fine with this replacing HP but not joining it

That's all I have to add. :P

I understand how the idea of "Most Jumps" sounds boring, but in all practicality and from when I've seen / done it on other servers it is actually interesting. You're always finding new positions where you can create an opportunity for you to accumulate the most jumps. (For example, crouch under stairs on vip in the mix and just spam your jump as fast as possible, you will jump really fast). Just because it's a flat map doesn't mean most jumps is boring, there are certain objects on all maps you can crouch under.

I see what you mean about Chicken Game though. It can be easily delayed, but then again, can't all LR's be easily delayed? Shot4Shot, gun toss, knife fight, etc. you can easily run away from. CT's / T's shouldn't be delaying these LR's anyways.

#4 There shouldn't be 2 forms of a 50/50 LR, (Hot Potato) it's the same game.

It is, but it isn't. Customs / modified rules could be applied, like shooting each other in the leg everytime the deagle is loaded with a bullet ~ this could make for some intense "who's gunna get the bullet / will this bullet kill" moments.

The main reason I added this many suggestions is to weed out the ones that majority wouldn't like. If we're being honest, the main LR's we see being played are gun toss, shot4shot, knife fights, and no scope battles. It's getting quite stale, and adding more games doesn't mean that you can't pick the others anymore ~ it just adds variety.

4. Hot potato/rock paper scissors but you shoot and basically have no say on the results.

Is this not kind of a contradiction? You're saying that an LJ type game doesn't play in the favour of whoever isn't as good at strafing (which is kind of the exact thing as gun toss btw, strafing farther means farther tosses), but then you say that Russian / eGO Roulette is too luck based, and there's no skill involved.

We've hit a cold-block, which is touchy in many ways. People like different LR's / games. Some people like luck based games, some people like skill based games. Me, I'm more on the skill based side due to the fact that (tooting my own here) I believe I am pretty good with most things / mechanics in CS. Although any player can mess up at any time, so in all actuality, there is a percentage of luck for all games.

ie. miss-strafing, forgetting to jump off ledge, reading the simon says game wrong and doing the wrong action, etc.

With the time problem, I believe most of these games could be time-based, dealing with the "length" of the game.

When I say "Hot potato/rock paper scissors but you shoot and basically have no say on the results." It doesn't just mean that I believe hot potato and rock paper scissors are bad games. I am just saying, games similar to this, where it is almost all luck, already exist in a better forms.

I understand, misinterpreted it.

The main thing I'm driving at here is that more doesn't hurt. You'll still have access to these games and be able to choose them if you'd like, but with a more variety of potential LR games. Also, for the first little bit I feel like a lot of people will actually try to make LR to try out these new games if they're implemented, which could make for some fun rounds.

Of these I like chicken, most jumps, and Gliptal's race idea the most.

For chicken the players wouldn't have to be solid: we could just make them have to be moving down instead of up for it to count as a kill.
