many moons ago, back when i weighed about 100 pounds heavier, drank constantly, and hated humanity..well, i still hate humans, but..anyways.. back when i only played cs:s and cs:go, we had a dedicated scrim team, a scrim manager, and we used the event server i think.

we even played in something and did pretty good for a few seasons, i forgot what it was called.

idk if that kinda platform is still around, but it was entertaining.

second i don't think le's interested in getting another server, and there's already an alternative. you said it yourself. i wouldn't entirely mind a 10man server going up, but whether it's actually necessary/whether it would have a playerbase is probably unlikely

Popflash u have to pay now and it only last for 60 mins long. not a good option since popflash been down alot.
 
Just an update on why Popflashes aren't effective:

So just today (for real, no fool joke), they released a premium option that requires at least one player who pays $5/month to host it. I support their decision and plan on buying it, but even if that was simpler than running it, it doesn't have support for others to spectate the game (I know MT members would love to film scrimmages).

Now, about running it on the event server, wouldn't I have to be EC (yes I already applied) or find someone who is an EC and hope they can set up the server? redchance redchance
 
Still don't think this is a good idea, too many people just gonna throw and makes it not fun, not expecting everyone to be global elite level but throwing isn't fun

If you don't want players to throw, then don't put them on your team.
 
I'm not an EC, but I think the first step would be to find an EC who would be interested in holding such events.
 
EC's are not able to start the server on your own you would have to consistenly find a tech team member(Omegalul) to start the server for you.
 
10man scrims used to be fun last year, we had some good matches

Many, many moons ey ;) Suh. We use to place in ESEA main/intermediate at the time, not sure what the leagues are called nowadays, we had our own scrim server at the time with team members having root access to run the cfg.

Randomly popped on here to see what's up during isolation. You're the only dude I recognise. Sad times man. Stay safe during the pandemic!
