Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (Poll) Thoughts on the !knife and !ws plugins?

The CS team would like to know your thoughts on the !knife and !ws plugins. This was an idea brought up in a recent discussion, and we would like to gauge the community's interest or any feedback on the subject. Let us know what you think!

I made a mistake, i meant to vote yes. As long as it doesnt break anything it could be nice to have. as the post above it could bring in revenue for just dedicated supporters. But it could also just be a nice feature for all users that may pull in people who like a little more customization. Personally i think its really cool and could be a great way for people to express themselves.

I don't believe making it DS only would be a good idea. Most servers have it enabled for free and locking it behind a paywall when you can go play other servers with it is kinda sucky. Ghost being DS only was not all that bad because we are one of the only servers to have it on JB and players loved it enough to get DS.

+1 from me. Not only does this provide skins for people who can't afford it, it also can fuel addiction. People who mainly play our servers would have skins now, and wouldn't feel it necessary to get a good skin from a case. I remember making a post about it a while back and I am actually very glad that Valve stopped enforcing it. Now if there is a chance that Valve is still enforcing it, even if it being 1% I strongly advise against it as I don't want the community being reprimanded.

Edit: I see no reason to not have it besides the players who actually paid for their skins would be upset about it. In this case I do believe that having it DS only could be more reasonable?

+1, Been wanting this added for a very long time and have had multiple players ask for it as well.

I don't really agree with making it DS only, like kuantum said there are a ton of different servers that all have it enabled for free. If a new player joins a server and sees they have to pay $5 to use !ws and !knife, then they will more then likely leave.

I'd love to see it added, and I know a ton of other players would like to see it on the servers as well.

Damon makes a really good point on the players leaving. DS is a no no for me xD

0, I don't have any downsides of this and frankly with the amazing new melees in the JB server I doubt I'll ever use !knife. But if this does happen it'll be a -1 if its DS only. It'll make the server have the vibe of "for $5 everything is much more enjoyable" and a constant cash grab

There's no downside to this. But if we were to do it, and it were to break something, it shouldn't be prioritized.

Takes away from having skins a bit which makes people with skins a little less likely to play. Valve stopped enforcing the TOS for fake skins a while ago but theres always a chance that they begin enforcing it again randomly.

For me its a bit of a mixed opinion its not a +1 or a -1 for me, I agree with P Power_Outlet it takes away from having the actual skin, but it be nice to have if it was implemented differently then just copying and pasting the plugin in.

Here are my suggestions for how it can be implemented in my opinion.
1) Make it Members only, encourages those who are dedicated the server and want to fancy up their skin to join, while also benefiting the community by getting more members.
2) Have a Points system differs from server to server, but acts similar to the "Gang Feature" where lets say you gain credits by playing, killing t's on ttt, etc etc, and you can use set credits to change your knife, and change the skin for it. Ex: 150 Credits to change the knife and 50 to change the skin.

idk if the point system is possible to be done but i like it

I was thinking this could be a feature for !gangs on Jailbreak. It would be an unlockable perk that would cost a lump sum of credits, but if purchased everyone in that gang may have access to it (or just members in the gang, tbd)

On our other servers I believe it would be best to make it a member-only accessible feature. This would allow our members to have reward for being apart of our community and offers an incentive to and pubs playing our server that would like to join the community.

We had the cross server store plugin on the old eGO TTT server up until 2017 ish and it probably wouldnt be too hard to bring that back and add the skins to the shop list. adding it to members only I believe is a better idea as i know some other servers (not to be mentioned) make you join their steam group. This could be good if players ask for the perks of joining as that usually has the general response of "events"
