I talked about this with Chaonyx, I just wasn't convinced.

Why do admins kick rdmers on TTT, when the system has a way to punish them with automatic slays at the beginning of the round.
I find it absurd, because sometimes I get rdmed, report it to admins, handle my report and kick the player. But then he rejoins the server before the round ends and hey, for rdming me he only had to type 'retry' as a punishment.

The problem: T-Baiters and Freeshooters.

I know the frustration. However, our server allows Innocents to protect themselves from an RDMer, whether that be a T-Baiter or a person who is shooting, but not killing, another player. That system would mark them as RDMer, and move them aside.

In that place, we have the karma system where if they drop below 45 karma, they will get an auto 2 day ban. I believe that system is too lenient, but that's what we have. There's also the possibility the player is new to the server, or the situation is so confusing that you end up getting RDM'd. It is what it is unfortunately.

+1

We had something designed for this but it was for our other TTT server which isn't running anymore. If this code is still floating around I think it'd be a great addition.

I get that you are frustrated that they get to come back, but the procedure will end with a ban. If he doesn't do it again then he learned. Accidents happen, people learn the rules. It's all a process

Personally think how we handle RDMs as of now is completely fine. Changing it to a slay system instead of w/k/b just seems to over complicate things imo

Yeah, you lose your round and the perp ends up doing a quick retry as if nothing happened. It sucks but I personally think its a bit harsh for newer players. If its intentional report them for a ban, if its a constant thing where either its targetted or they are carelessly RDMing the automatic system comes in or again report them.

I mean let's say a T buddy walks into your fire while your spraying at people. You should get slayed? I remember this system, but I think we have a good system right now.

I think you got me wrong guys, the system should not slay automatically if the user rdms, the admin needs to intervene. So for example if someone rdmed, admins will look into it and check if he did it by mistake or not, just like what they're doing now, but instead of kicking they will autoslay the player next round.
It's not about my frustrations, I tend to forgive players for rdming me. It's just a way to guarantee that rdmers will get what they deserve, and probably they will learn that rdming people is going to get them in trouble.

I suggested revamping the RDM System that was lying around when I was back in tech; with the same idea almost exactly that you are suggesting. Fact is, right now tech reportedly has too much on their plate at the moment and doesn't want to at this time put someone on making this plugin work.

+1 for the idea, but good luck because AFAIK the situation with tech hasn't changed much, in fact if anything with recent events I am sure that it probably is a larger plate than before.

At this point in time we will not be changing to a slay system as it will make things more complicated and we already have a system that has proven to work well.

they will learn that rdming people is going to get them in trouble.

I've seen servers that had slays as the form of punishment, and if people are getting slain for multiple rounds in a row, they will not want to return. This will not teach players to abide by the rules or learn the gamemode, it will push them away from wanting to learn as they will be sitting there doing nothing for a long period of time. Thanks for the suggestion~
