We recently got a clarification/rule that the Police force is not allowed to be corrupt.
Which i think is weird and goes against the servers statement to be realistic.
Also is it unfair for criminals which can be insided by undercover agents at all times.
there are already many precautions taken before someone can enter the Police force, and they can even be sharpened up by doing background checks. Also these agents undergo a long and hard training.
I think Corrupt Police should be allowed so that Criminals could for example get an insider just like the Police would be able to. Seeing as there are many precautions to become a cop worries about it being abused are alot less. but please keep in mind im not talking about taking all the drugs inside the PD Armory. More so about someone who would rely information to the Criminals doing a Robbery as example. It could create alot of interesting scenario's and would require the PD to sharpen up its agent. If not, then it would only be fair if undercover agents also wouldnt be allowed.

So in conclusion, allow Corrupt Policeman Roleplay

Would be cool but it would need a lot of regulation. I've seen this on another server where the leadership team picks one or two candidates that can be corrupt cops and they are only allowed to give out certain information for certain prices. They weren't directly working for one group or person, whoever discovered them could use their information. This would be cool to add but would need a lot of thought and work behind it. Would be cool to see in the future but not something I would expect to see anytime soon.

I agree with this. It creates a balance for PD and crim for a sense of gathering information.

There is a lot of things that go against this. such as greenzones, and other rules.

Make it a gang rule in the SOP or something along those lines that say you can't join just to feed information.

by doing background checks.
I can tell you right now, NOBODY does background checks on people who join PD or other departments.

I am however all for it as I think if the person does it right and plays their cards properly and knows what they are doing, it could give a lot more insight on some role play. However, some people aren't the best at knowing how to role play. So it could also be up for debate.

No from me. Way too many negative outcomes that can and will happen. The explanation makes things seem really minor, but the outcome of this would be equivalent to putting a cop into every gang discord/ group chat / whatever else criminals use, and giving them full access to every channel. The PD relies on communication and cops feeding criminals information is something i'm not a fan of. I don't want to be worried about people in CID and on a SWAT team potentially being insiders.

Im not say the corrupt cop would go and take all the items out of the armory, more so by taking a bribe or relaying information maybe even deactivate a warrant. Even if we would maybe appoint a specific Policeman to allow this and the criminals would have to find out who it is and he can only do certain things, Its for the RP not to gain self profit

Said cop would still have to think about the consequences, i agree that with the current state of the communications of the pd it would be unlikely the insider would get caught, but this would only call for the PD to sharpen its officers. Then again this is for RP purposes and only a prototype suggestion. So people commented that maybe LE would appoint a corrupt cop that would only be allowed to do certain Corrupt scenarios

If Leadership is going to appoint someone, it needs to be someone in the top 1% of roleplayers on the server. But besides, that opens up an entire can of worms. If leadership is giving the okay for someone to be corrupt, what happens when they get caught and or fired? We certainly would not let them back in, and in doing that, we're kicking a great roleplayer out of the PD. Way too big of a tradeoff.

maybe even deactivate a warrant

This is the kind of thing they would realistically have zero control over. You can maybe bribe them to not arrest you on the warrant, but the warrant wouldn't be "served" until you're brought before a judge. Another thing they would realistically be unable to do is feed information based on blips, as that information was added to make the job more manageable without a dispatcher, even though realistically such information wouldn't exist in your hands.

I myself would not mind minimal corruption if it was impossible to do things that were unrealistic (taking stuff out of the armory, just deactivating warrants, letting people leave jail, telling your friends exactly where every officer is patrolling) and the tools existed to root out said corruption. But the tools don't exist for those without database access, and the risk of metagaming game mechanics is too high because it has such a large payout to it.

Additionally, I don't want to go to a level of hyper realism to prevent corruption from happening. It's a game and going extremely hyper realistic causes people to not have fun.

Hello,

This has been discussed, and we have decided that you can be "corrupt" as a police officer to a point. You are allowed to provide information to people, provided you (the officer) aren't breaking any rules.
