I think the way the eGO servers handle the !nextmap and !timeleft commands is a little backwards. The other community server I spend most of my time on is the KSF surf server, and I prefer their way of handling it.
In eGO, when you type !timeleft, the command appears in chat to everyone, but the response only appears to you. Same with !nextmap. It should really be the opposite. This will reduce chat spam, and help everyone get the information they need.
For example, in eGO, if time is winding down and the remaining CT is debating slaying, one person in chat will type !timeleft. And then, everyone else will get curious, and you end up with up to a dozen !timeleft messages in chat. And anyone else who wants to know how much time is left will have to add to the spam.
It would be much more helpful if the command itself is hidden, as it is with most commands, but everyone in the server is told how much time is left. This will help reduce chat spam, and you can even put a global timeout on the timeleft command.
What do you all think? Or, why does eGO handle these commands this way?
