Change to Discord instead of Teamspeak

I think that if we changed to Discord, we would have more active members communicating with each other and the community would be closer together. No one really uses teamspeak anymore and I just think that Discord would be a better option.

This has been suggested many times before. But for right now, Discord and Teamspeak work in tandem with each other and I personally like both options.

I think the debates been pretty beaten to death for a while now on this site. Each side has it's own points and we're supporting both.

i mean if you just take a step into teamspeak you see a lot of members in channels. there’s a lot of people that use it. it’s also a lot more organized and nicer for bigger events and group calls. for a big community like this team speak is a lot easier. especially with things like community meetings we’ve tried them in discord. for me it was incredibly inconvenient especially because the roles don’t organize the person to be at the top of the channel therefore to know who’s speaking you have to scroll among a long long list of people to figure it out if you don’t already know everyone’s voices. it’s also a lot better for ds perks in my opinion and just looks nicer. you get used to teamspeak and grow to like it more if you give it a chance. for about a year In ego i didn’t step foot in the teamspeak only once in a while which was rare. i started to go in more often and i realized how much better and nicer it was to use. you really just need to get used to it to like it. but i would riot if we switched lmao

Considering this is the fourth suggestion, and the Community Management is still looking at the possibility of going to Discord. This thread will be closed at May 18th.

We use both, discord more for text but many people use our discord server for voice channels as well. Teamspeak on the otherhand better fits what we do in certain games. All in all both seems like its wonderful right now

Discord, awful for big communities. the layout is meant for smaller groups not 500+ people to come into one room together.

Hopefully I'm not repeating anyone, but I honestly think teamspeak still has worth in this community. In fact, I see more people talking in the eGO ts than I ever do in discord (except clan wide meetings, of course). I'm not hating on discord because I do think the community will move there eventually just because of modernity. As of right now though, they both serve valuable purposes.

Honestly, I was a discord user my self before I started using Teamspeak after using it I like it just as much and my discord usually freaks out, once I have a big group of people in my server unlike TeamSpeak so it's better for events/gatherings.

I personally have never used teamspeak besides once that i tried it out and IMO its not as easy to use as discord.

ima just add onto this real quick:
alot of the people that seem to complain are the newer players. I understand this and like i said before, i didnt quite like the idea of teamspeak either until i ACTUALLY gave it a chance. Its a change everyone would start to get used to if they used it more often. everything takes some getting used to.

IMO its not as easy to use as discord.

may seem like that because you only used it once as you said, but honestly, teamspeak is infact easier and more convenient in everyway but only with the idea that we are a large community. the discord would be a MESS if only that was used. there are alot of more perks and again, things that would take getting used to. its alot easier when it comes to things like community meetings, events, and making dedicated supporter rooms. Its weird to start using it , but i promise , you get used to it and start to like the idea if you give it more than a few shots.
