Hey all, so Spectrum is offering my mom an unbeatable deal since she already has internet, but her tv package is thru DirecTv. Needless to say, were gonna work on getting her completely setup on Spectrum since they're offering double the internet speed just to bundle the service (which is included in the cost), so that's already a huge savings. However, I need some help figuring out which dvr boxes will work with Spectrum service. I did some research on HDHomerun box and come to find out that it apparently doesn't work with it. Anyways, for those of you who live in the USA and happen to use Spectrum, please enlighten me on which box you use to get your signal in so that we can save money on the boxes.

I'm a little confused.
I live in Florida. Spectrum did not charge me and my wife for a DVR box nor do they charge monthly for a DVR box.
We are grandfathered into Spectrum by having TWC, which turned into Bright House Networks, which turned into Spectrum. This might have something to do with it in regards to them charging for a DVR box.
Can you explain a little better? Are they charging you outright for a DVR box? That's what you wanna avoid? Or a monthly fee?
