How fast is your internet ? I have comcast cable internet (maybe fiber) with powerboost which does this nifty little thing when you first start to download something it boosts your speed up to 1.4 mb/s. To check the speed of your internet go here http://www.speedtest.net/ and select a region, note that there are roughly 1200/1500 kilobytes in a mega byte so and little over 1k kilobytes would equal a megabyte. After the test is finished get the forum link and it will post the speed and everything.


 
I got a ADSL at 2MB/512k.These local ISP's are the worst.We are like 4-6 years behind in broadband technology, technical support is awful,and its very expensive ( 65 USD for the 2 MB/ 512k).
At $65 i could get FiOS at 15mb/15mb... :(

 

This is at my computer engineering class. its kindof meh, but it has many computers connected to it
 
My internets are win.



I would like to point out that all these speed tests are affected by the speed of the server receiving/sending the data too.

Hey, shouldn't we all test on the same server, anyway, i have done 2. Just to show you the difference.

Well if you want to see how we compare to a central server then yes but speed will almost always drop the farther geographically away you are.
 
I did another one since my dad fixed it, significant improvement.

 
I'm note even going to post mine, I live in NYC and I got Time Warner RR, they offer you around 15mb download speed but if u read the TOS it says "cannot guarantee this speed" so I'm usually at 1MB download (major difference), and 400kb upload... lol
