Civilians,
The Los Santos Police Department is happy to announce the start of the Explorers Program, The explorers program gives all civilians (Ex Criminal or otherwise) a chance to have a 45-90 minute ride along with officers within the LSPD, below you can find some expectations that applicants must understand before applying.
All civilians are expected to:
If the Officer or civilian does not feel comfortable or safe in participating in a particular situation, they have the ability to avoid the call or terminate the ride-along. In the case that the Officer is required to respond to a call, then the civilian must be dropped off at the nearest station or remain in the officers patrol vehicle.

All civilians are expected to:
- Follow all orders issued by law enforcement and prevent themselves from obstructing justice.
- Not carry or interact with any weapons during their ride-along.
- Maintain a professional attitude at all times.
- Keep an awareness of their own safety.
- Wear appropriate attire, including close-toed shoes.
- Refrain from interacting with any persons involved in a crime scene unless permission has been obtained from the Officer.
- Stay INSIDE the patrol vehicle during any scene and only be allowed to leave once told by the officer.
If the Officer or civilian does not feel comfortable or safe in participating in a particular situation, they have the ability to avoid the call or terminate the ride-along. In the case that the Officer is required to respond to a call, then the civilian must be dropped off at the nearest station or remain in the officers patrol vehicle.
Civilian Participation Requirements:
- Be of 16 years of age or older. (OOC AGE)
- Civilians who repeatedly spend time in prison will still be considered for the Explorers program, however, they must have a clean record for 7 consecutive days
- Be clear of any physical or mental health issues unless otherwise noted by a supervisor.
Topics and Activities:
- A question and answer session with the Officer.
- A patrol ranging from 45-90 minutes, or whatever is deemed appropriate by the civilian or officer based on their time constraints.
- Participation in traffic stops, backup requests, wellness checks, vehicle pursuits, shots fired, foot pursuits, and other various calls.
